#1zombiegleemaxFeb 14, 2004 11:27:21 | Does anyone have a list of the various DL games produced for the PC handy...? Just curious... |
#2dragontoothFeb 14, 2004 12:24:27 | Champions of Krynn Death Knights of Krynn Dark Queen of Krynn(I think) Dragonstrike (dragon flight simulator) Don't know the year they came out, and i think there are 2 more if i'm not mistaken. |
#3baron_the_curseFeb 14, 2004 19:47:02 | And they are so old that the graphics will make your eyes bleed. If you can even get those relics to run in your computer. |
#4brimstoneFeb 14, 2004 21:50:19 | Originally posted by Baron the Curse Fun games though...once you get past the graphics...which isn't too hard. Champions of Krynn is kind of difficult to run on a new computer...but Death Knights of Krynn and Dark Queen of Krynn (which takes place in Taladas) run much better. |
#5zombiegleemaxFeb 15, 2004 6:15:34 | you just need to find a good DOS emulator (where???) or use FAT32 on your harddrive, so you can have w2k or wxp running parrallel with win98. But who has either:D As far as I remember all the games are still avialible for download. |

I used to run a dualboot system with Win2k & Win98. I don't suggest an amateur attempting it though. |
#7zombiegleemaxFeb 19, 2004 16:03:24 | hey i have been reading the books for years and didnt know there were computer game. dose anyone have any idea of where i might be able to find them? if you want to just email me or somethign that would be great thanks |
#8zombiegleemaxFeb 19, 2004 21:58:45 | Not out yet, but don't forget this Neverwinter Nights mod project: Dragonlance Adventures |
#9zombiegleemaxFeb 20, 2004 18:33:28 | Those games are great. I got them a LONG time ago, in the triple-box set, and haven't NOT had them installed on a computer. I haven't had much of a problem running them, though. Course, even with the game speed set to slowest, you have to read extremely fast to read the combat feetback. 1 Human Knight 1 Human Paladin (in the latter 2) 1 Mountain Dwarf Fighter 1 Cleric of Mishakal, any race, but I seem to recall only Human and Half-Elf being able to advance the highest 1 Red Robe, an elf or human 1 Kender Cleric of Kiri-Jolith/Thief (could NOT make this in DQK, for some reason they don't let thieves be CG in alignment in that one) This is a group that I have used many, many times, and invariably, return to it pretty regularly. I may switch the fighter out for a ranger, or create another utility character over the cleric/thief, but the rest is always the same. Good stuff. Dragonstrike is hard, but it is very well done, for the time. |
#10zombiegleemaxFeb 21, 2004 13:52:55 | Those games are great. Especially Champions of Krynn and Dark Queen of Krynn.. SSI (Strategic Simulations INC) made those games, and you can play all of their RPG games, because all of them are great. Their Darksun game is the best RPG game ever imo. |
#11zombiegleemaxFeb 21, 2004 21:24:55 | The only ones I didn't terribly like were Hillsfar and Stone Prophet (Ravenloft game). The one I think I have gotten the most use out of, though, is Dungeon Hack. I kinda think of that as the very first action RPG. There may have been others, and Eye Of the Beholder was just ridiculous with how fast you had to move; Dungeon Hack was a nice "middle-of-the-road" type that I love. Dark Queen of Krynn takes a while to get used to, but I love it just for the underwater part. Fireball doesn't work? Just cast Lightning Bolt, instead! |
#12zombiegleemaxFeb 22, 2004 21:16:58 | I thought Dragonstrike was an incredibly cool game and one deserving of a modern rewrite... |
#13gforce99Feb 23, 2004 7:51:09 | Someone made a Neverwinter Nights version of Champions of Krynn. It was pretty good. If anyone is interested, I can find the link on NeverwinterVault. Let me know. |
#14zombiegleemaxFeb 23, 2004 9:05:56 | Originally posted by GFORCE99 Just post the link here, I think that there are more than one person interested. |
#15zombiegleemaxFeb 23, 2004 9:48:01 | I fogot one: Heroes of the Lance. Commodore 64/128 and original Nintendo. More of a sidescroller, but it was ahead of its time, I think. Really ahead of its time. I loved it. Caramon and Sturm got most of my time. WHAM! |
#16brimstoneFeb 23, 2004 12:26:22 | There are two others that I can think of: Heroes of Flame Shadow Sorcerer So...all told we have: Heroes of the Lance (DL1) Dragons of Flame (DL2) Shadow Sorcerer (DL3) War of the Lance (DL8) Dragon Strike Champions of Krynn Death Knights of Krynn Dark Queen of Krynn Hmm...did I forget any? |
#17IllithidbixFeb 23, 2004 13:31:35 | Ah Champions of Krynn... the game that introduced me to Dragonlance... Tas playing "Flying citadel derby", was just great… then nicking some uniforms and hitching a evacuation on some red dragons… |
#18morgion-s_clawFeb 24, 2004 3:20:28 | You forgot WAR OF THE LANCE the strategic game adapting the game contained in DL8 (I think..or was it DL11?) It's damn cool if you like strategic round-based games And the Highlord is someone who pratically always beats the heck out of me if I don't set the configurations to my advantage. I'd say that it was an impressive game for the times back then... It would be awful to see it again, polished, shiny and with some features worked out a bit... *dream* Greets to all, M's Claw |
