#1zombiegleemaxFeb 16, 2004 17:17:01 | Ok I need help, I have decided to use the Famed Compain of the Lance Adventure in my new game. I decided to alter it to fit the world i have made and in doing so my 10 Players want to make there own chareters. So i said yes but let me find info on the origanal COTL. So that i can Relate to them the ideas and relationships that worked and made the Compain so great. So thats where i turn to you the great minds of the message bored I need as much info as you can find on the COTL espcially the way they viewed each other, and how they viewed themselfve. For all of you how want to help but don't know who i'm talking about they are Flint Tainis Riverwind Goldmoon Sturm Tika Tasslehoff Caramon Raistlin Laurana All help is appreciated Thanx |
#2talinthasFeb 16, 2004 17:52:35 | you know, what you are asking is essentially a summary of about 40-50 novels dealing with the heroes of the lance. I'm not quite sure how to help you here, and instead encourage you to let the players make their characters original and come up with their own relations to each other. it will be much easier in the long run. |
#3zombiegleemaxFeb 16, 2004 18:57:42 | No i'm not asking for a summary of 50-60 books i'm not a loon;) how every all i need is a brief summary of there relationship to each other in the beginning in Dragons of an Autumn Twilight. |
#4talinthasFeb 16, 2004 19:08:59 | see, that is a summary of preludes, meetings, raistlin chronicals, stories in the tales set.... the best summary is the front page of autumn twilight, where it introduces the characters. |
#5drachasorFeb 17, 2004 9:08:31 | He means something like this: Tanis: Quasi-Romantic involvement with Kitiara, Raistlin and Caramon's half-sister. First met Flint in Qualinesti, they go way back. Friends with Laurana (who has a crush on him). Friends with everyone else, I forget the details precisely. Fairly honorable so Sturm and him get along pretty well. Raistlin: Twin of Caramon. Very smart and secretive. Tends to think of himself as better than others. Has basically on respect from Sturm, and views Sturms honor-bound ways as stupid and weak. Loves and despises his brother. Loves him for obvious reasons and because Caramon is always there to help. Hates Caramon because Raistlin doesn't like needing help. Constantly puts down Caramon (who is smarter than the average person, but thinks deeply and slowly so can seem a bit slow-witted). Caramon Loves Raistlin and Tika. Good natured and friends with everyone. That's all I am going to do for now, someone else can do others or I'll get some more done later. If we all do a little, it shouldn't be too much work for anyone. -Drachasor |
#6zombiegleemaxFeb 17, 2004 10:33:41 | That is exactly what i needed thank you Drachasor. You see i needed some thing a little more indepth then what they give at the start of the book. So once again Thank you Drachasor. |
#7zombiegleemaxFeb 17, 2004 15:27:38 | The original series is a must to read (obviously) and then i would read the twins books; TIme of the twins, test of the twins, and I forgot the third. Another good one is soulforge which explains a lot but make sure to read it last. I ran my gamers through the same quest, although it was changed a bit, but it went along pretty nicely even though not all of them were familiar with Dragonlance at all. For draconian stats and the such i would find one of the original modules, i think you can download them or find one in a used book store, the old module I found saved my butt on many occasions |
#8rian_lightbladeFeb 17, 2004 18:11:02 | Originally posted by Thorn Shadowalker It was, in order, Time of the Twins, War of the Twins, and Test of the Twins
I also think they released all the Original modules in one book during the 25th Anniversary. You might want to look for that. |

#10zombiegleemaxFeb 21, 2004 6:16:41 | Goldmoon: Daughter of the Que-Shu cheiften. She is in love with riverwind, they have recently fled the Que-Shu lands together. She is bearing the blue crystal staff, she doesn't know anyone, but she is a good woman and a leader at heart. She is willing to give people a chance. Riwerwind: The shepard. A shepard from the Que-Shu tribe. Is in love with Goldmoon, which was forbidden. Therefor he was sent to prove his worth, by retrieving an ancient artifact from an old city. He doesn't know anyone, his only allegience is to goldmoon, for whom he is willing to do anything. He mistruts any non-humans, and doesn't talk much. But when you win his trust it is for real. Tasselhof Burrfoot: When Tassellhof first started wandering about it quickly brought him to northern solamnia where he met Flint and Tanis. They were wandering to see the world, and they teamed up with TAS. They got involved in a fight with a black mage, and traveled south again. They trust eachother almost blindly, and now five years later, they are about to meet again in the inn of the last home. |
