#1torasFeb 23, 2004 17:18:14 | I find myself in need of information on Nerull, and lacking the necessary Greyhawk experience to change. Any help would be apperciated. |

His appearance is that of a rust red skeletal being with thick blackish-green hair. His staff Lifecutter is a scythelike blade that slays anyone it touches. His symbol is a skull and scythe. His domains are Death, Evil, and Trickery. His weapons are scythe, dagger, quarterstaff, and a sickle. This information was gathered from the LGG. |
#3MortepierreFeb 24, 2004 6:08:46 | Nerull was also the patron deity (at least according to some versions of the setting) of the Horned Society (before Iuz conquered it). If you have the second book of the Gord the Rogue series, watch out for his guest star appearance! :D |
#4GreysonFeb 24, 2004 21:48:32 | Just a bit more on Nerull. He is a Flannish deity and holds the pole opposite of Pelor, the Flannish deity of Life, Healing and Sun. Some mythological accounts pitch Nerull against Pelor, and their eternal battle is represented by the daily events of day and night. Worship of Nerull is a dangerous proposition. Any who do follow this fell deity do it in secret, like followers of Incabulos. I don't personally subscribe to the Nerull-Horned Society connection. |

HE is a greater deirie, and nobody, even incabulos if i remember well, equal him in power. In the first greyahwk box, the god was over 400hp if i remeber well, in fact he was the "the death". Nerull the Reaper... Brrrrr. |
#6acearFeb 26, 2004 9:21:40 | Personally, I like the Nerull-Horned Society connection. More now than ever, now that the society is raoming the world cuasuing trouble where ever they go. |
#7zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 10:33:44 | Both Pelor and Nerull are husbands of Beorry right? |
#8GreysonFeb 27, 2004 12:43:11 | Qlay, according to a 1998 Greytalk thread, Flannish creation myth makes that indication. I cannot remember who posited that myth. But I can look later, when I have more time and get the authors name. But, yes. The myth clearly states that Beory wed or "danced" with Pelor and Nerull and she bore them both children. And, the cycle of day and night is the continued dance that she still shares with both of them. |
#9zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 13:46:37 | Nerull is easily one of the most vile deities in Greyhawk, right up there with Iuz and Tharizdun. There was a huge underground following in GH City that I (as Valkaun) never managed to completely destroy. I like the Suel Goddess Wee-Jas (or Asiji). Her profiles are Death and Magic and she has both good and evil followers. I know she had a write-up in Dragon a loooong time ago. I had a kit (2nd Edition) for a priest of Wee Jas (I can't remember where I got it or if I even still have it) and they had access to every spell for priests and magic users. 3rd edition knocked them down more than a peg or two.
