Here's a rough sketch of something I pieced together for one of my campaigns - a material that a "Psionic Weapon Master" could use to make (or have made) crystal weapons that they use, as well as armor. I felt it could work for Dark Sun, since metal is lacking, and various crystals to tend to be in abundance in most real world deserts.

Crystal weapons:
Hardness 8, HP 15 (or around what the "normal" weapon would be), break DC of 20, AC 7 (Armor)
Price: As a Masterwork weapon of the same type, note - no masterwork bonuses applied.

Here I start:

Orb of Storms: Like the DMG magical item but with a limited eye of the storm effect, protecting only the possessor; thrice per day, she can also call upon the orb to use a control wind spell.

Animus Circlet: This minor artefact is an ivory and white onyx circlet worn around the neck, with bronze clasp and hinge. Created by the sorceress Amiska half a King’s Age ago, the circlet was given as a gift to the Veiled Alliance of Tyr. The artefact vanished with its wearer a few years after in suspicious circumstances. The organisation considers them lost.
The wearer was in fact intercepted by the Order, informed by the city’s local member on the nature of a strange new psionic creation in the hands of the Alliance. Comprised of psionic purists, the Order protects the dogmatic truth of learning and growing into one’s own psionic power with zeal, often hunting down abominations and destroying or putting away psions’s or sorcerers’s foul inventions. That was the case for the Animus Circlet. The preserver’s body was disposed of and the circlet spirited away in the vaults of the Order, never to see the light of day.
For those who put on the circlet, psion becomes a favored class. Also, if for a reason or another the wearer has a penalty to XP while advancing in the psion class, it sees its penalty erased as long as experience is gained while the circlet is in its possession.

Huru...hurummm

Don't tell me you people don't even have stuff in your drawers?
The little spell you crafted to imitate one of the spells of the PP, a magic item you are most proud of.

Right now one-fifth of the boards have posted here, and only xlor contributed...

-thanks -

Be proud, show your creations! ;)

Oh and Jon and flip, you should be ashamed of yourselfs! Lurking like that in a perfectly serious thread without even...
-xzzzzeeeeee-
-moment of review of past statements-
Ok, ok, I deserved that bolt... :embarrass

I'm proud!!

-gee, what was I on when I wrote that-

Base on material from Dragon #284, Campaign Corner.

Korgunard's Annulus: This minor artifact is a solid bar of silver two feet in length whose extremities nearly join in a closed circle. On its surface are carved intricate flowing figures of mythical beings part human, part cloud. This is the only artifact that Korgunard ever crafted, using a relic of the time of the Great Pantheon, a gift from Oronis. Since the death of Korgunard, the Annulus as been in the hands of a brown elf named Xaymon, a preserver apprentice of Korgunard, now on the run from Hamanu's forces, hiding in the avangion's secret retreat. Wielding the Annulus by its middle reveals its properties to a user without the taint of defilement. It is a spellbook of arcane spells meant to rejuvenate nature and reinforce it. The spells are divine in nature, but count as arcane for the owner. The spells cannot be learned but can be prepared by the owner as he would any arcane spell using the Annulus as a spellbook. It contains the following spells: create tree of life, create water, nurturing seeds, plant renewal, purify food and drink and rejuvenate. It also has an array of magic and psionic powers, each usable once per day at caster and manifester level 12th:
- antimagic field
- negate psionics
- ?????????????
....
Ultimately the artifact is meant to facilitate the transition into an avangion. Any good-aligned owner of the Annulus, provided he meets the spell's requirements, can at any time initiate the casting of the stage-1 preserver metamorphosis spell, requiring the artifact as a spell focus. But the knowledge of the spell is not imparted on the owner, and as such can't be learned or copied to another medium.

The array of abilities is incomplete. Any ideas?

I made once a little flask, that PCs found in an ancient horde.

it was a really powerful artifact, and the secret of it that it could be used to entrap any planar being inside. when they found it, there was already an inhabitant of other ages, a kobold demon lord. after much chaos and death, they trapped inside the same lord, after he possesed a poweful Kaishagra.

the PCs could not think of any other way to destroy it, so they decided to throw it into the sea of silt, where it probably still rests (it was 20 years ago in dark sun time...)

I will always be fond of Kank Death, the sentient dagger +5 vs kank. it enraged any kank in a 20' radius. by taunting. loudly. since it was steel and mw to boot the pc's kept it.
the players actually used it creatively once.

I am so going to give my players that. Maybe not with the 'taunting loudly' thing, perhaps just a reversed Psionic Charm or something similar.

I love *interesting* artifacts like that, not cursed in the 'normal' way, but items that have loopy / inane features, that often become quiete amusing when applied creativley. *yoink*

our DM winged it with artifacts. in our campaign we discovered another inverted pyramid of Rajaat's. it was almost bare except for Maul, an dintelligent warhammer rajaat had abandoned due to its annoying personality. im still not sure if it or the dragon was the true villain. 2000 years in a hole does strange things to ego weapons... anyways he made it with the ego weapon rules in the DMG magic item section, but it was a cool thing to find so i thought i'd throw it up.
