#1zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 20:22:10 | Hello everyone! Someone probably knows me from the ENworld boards. Planescape is the setting I've got when I switched from OD&D to 2E and still the best purchase I've ever made. I've decided to register here solely for the Planescape forum, and mostly because I feel it's the best place to comment on the Planescape 3E releases. But I'm sure I will be drawn into lots of other interesting discussions before dawn. :D Now, if anyone thinks this is idle forum spam, think again. Besides introducing myself, I am also presenting the huge adventure/short campaign I'm writing. In a nutshell, the PCs get trapped into the Abyss by the curse of a tanar'ri lord. And then things get worse. It is about one third complete and already almost 100 pages. It is a Planescape adventure, but not strongly so - it is designed to be very self-contained, and it has more focus on the Abyssal horror than factions and belief. http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=68383 This link leads to an ENworld thread where you can download the current draft and read lots of comments. I am hungry for feedback! Post comments here or on the ENworld, as you prefer (if in doubt, please choose the board where the thread has fallen further ). |
#2sirjoekcbFeb 27, 2004 21:22:19 | I read this a couple of weeks ago and was favorably impressed. I'm interested to see where it's headed in Broken Reach and beyond. You might also want to link it over at the MotP forum and the Planescape Forum over at RoE. |
#3xanxost_the_slaadi_dupFeb 27, 2004 21:53:43 | Xanxost says "hi", and Xanxost will definately look at the adventure when things aren't so busy around here. Hear what? Oh that? It's the screaming ore Xanxost took from Pandemonium. When you hold it up to your ear, you can hear the harmonica... *twitch-twitch* |
#4Shemeska_the_MarauderFeb 28, 2004 1:06:20 | *glancing up from a bobbed draft of Zadara the Titan's latest offer on several pieces of Sigil property* "Well, give me a few days certainly and I guess I could find the time to read over your work. After all, I should play my part as the most pleasant Arcanaloth within Sigil. Reading and commenting on that is the least I could do. I'd be pleased." [monday or thereabouts I'll get the chance. Nice to see more people from Enworld making an appearance here!] *glancing over at Xanxost* "Screaming ore you say? Where'd you get it exactly? I'd love to get my claws on a few pounds of it as ... house warming gifts... yes..." |
#5zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2004 16:45:08 | I've been trying to get ahold of this Abyssal adventure by clicking on the link over on ENWorld but it keeps giving me an error; does anyone on these boards have access to it? I'd really like to read it (being a PS noob). |
#6zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2004 17:19:21 | I'm sorry, I don't have a decent host I can use at the moment. Try this link: http://xoomer.virgilio.it/zappo/adventures.html |
#7zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2004 17:23:01 | I've also got a FULL Planescape adventure at the same link . I wrote and run this adventure while staying in Manchester. It's set before Faction War, and it revolves around a strange artefact which seems to change powers and shape to match the beliefs of those around it... |
#8zombiegleemaxJul 26, 2004 21:50:42 | "Processing......designation: Zappo. Greetings! Salutations! Welcome! Primary scan of text yields a 98.1% chance Nordom will react favorably to said text. Processing.....Abyss. Plane of chaotic evil. Prospect of drama within said text- 89.5%, give or take 17. Odds are favorable. Will commence proper scan of text immediately. Query: does Nordom have permission to offer opionions of said text once scans are complete?" OOC- I definitely think I'm going to like reading this....nice to meet you, Zappo. |
#9zombiegleemaxJul 27, 2004 4:59:14 | Hiya, Nordom! I'm looking forward to any sort of positive or negative feedback. There's no better way to improve. |
#10zombiegleemaxJul 27, 2004 9:13:57 | Thanks much, Zappo! I read it yesterday and really enjoyed what I've read thus far. I'm still digesting it at the moment so I can't offer much feedback but I have noticed one thing that appears to be an error: on page 71, under the the Plain of Infinite Portals subheading, a large block of text appears to be missing from the second to last paragraph (specifically the one regarding how to deal with demons.) The last line of the paragraph (which is the 2d way) ends abruptly: "Everyone in the Abyss has enemies, and the most powerful the" Also, Chapter IV is referenced early on, specifically for the plans of the Upper Castle. When will you be updating with that? Looking forward to seeing the next chapters! Boy, my Greyhawk PCs are going to be honked off at me. :D |
#11zombiegleemaxJul 28, 2004 13:31:00 | Thanks for spotting that. Sometimes, I work on a few paragraphs at the same time, especially when I'm cross-referencing something, and such mistakes are the result. :D I can't give you an estimate for the next chapters; I just don't have as much spare time as I'd like to... but Chapter III is almost complete. |
#12zombiegleemaxJul 28, 2004 21:02:10 | And you will flag us when it's complete, yes? I'm lucky in that my group rotates GMing duties and, since I've been running my Greyhawk D&D campaign for about 6 months now, someone else is itching to run for a bit. Well, that and the fact that I'll be a GenCon so someone has to pick up the reins. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the next installment; boy, my PCs are really going to be honked off when I strand them in the Abyss... ...shortly after I have my arch-bad guy wizard abduct the children of two PCs. :D |
#13zombiegleemaxJul 29, 2004 4:11:22 | I'll make sure to post here at each major update, don't worry. ^_^ |
