here s the problem : an elf ( 5 feet by 5) with a reach wepon can attack up to 25 feet by 25 ( but not adjacent foe for some weapon)
a centaur ( 5 feet by 10 feet ) with the same wepon, attack to a square of 25 by 25 to? or 25 feet by 30 feet? and since a centaur can make hoove attack , it can attack adjacent foe as well ( but with hoove of course)
with a melee weapon it can attack 5 feet all around him so i guess if it s a reach weapon it s 10 feet all around him .
anybody have an idea?

First off, You need to make your question a bit more clear, it took me a good 2 minutes to figure out what you were saying.

Now, where are you gettin that a medium sized creature with a reach weapon can attack in a 25 ft. radius? A medium sized creature has a normal reach of 5 ft., a space of 5 ft., and can attack up to 10 ft. with a reach weapon. (As a side note, most reach weapons also specify that you cannot attack someone within 5 ft while weilding them)

A Centaur, a large(long) creature, has a space of 10 ft, a reach of 5 ft, and can attack up to 10 ft. with a reach weapon. (Same note as above)

Also, due to D&D 3.5, there is no 10 ft. x 5 ft creatures (Something I disagree with and don't use in my capaigns, but that is the offical rule), therefor all creatures take up a square shaped space. As for how far you can reach with a weapon, the distance (5 ft. or 10 ft. with reach weapon in both of these examples) is taken from the edge of the space the creature takes up, not the middle.

If you need more on what individual creature spaces, reaches, and reaches with reach weapons, are then look in the back of the 3.5 DMG. It has a set of wonderul charts, detailing creatures of all sizes, and showing their space, reach, and reach with reach weapon on little grids.

Actually, he never said a 25 foot radius for an elf. It seemed pretty clear that what he was stating is that an elf with a reach weapon can attack non-adjacent enemies in a 25 foot by 25 foot square, which is correct.

Ohh, Ok, i See it now.

Still, I belive I answered his question in the latter part of my post. A Centaur has a 30 ft x 30 ft. (If you like to think about it that way) square they can attack or, if you use the old edition rules, then a 25 ft. x 30 ft. rectangle with a reach weapon.

Yep, you answered his question. He just worded it in an unusual way.
