#1zombiegleemaxMar 09, 2004 20:39:07 | Where do the Baatezu record the history of the Blood War, especially "minor" incidents on prime material worlds? Perhaps the Ministry of Mortal Relations? Any nice suggestions how a mortal could get near enough of these tomes? Has anybody DMed an adventure connected to this topic? Basically I want a group of Clueless to learn more about the distant past of their home world by means of accounts made by the Baatezu during heavy fighting in this orb millenia ago. Thanx for your inspirations, Sthelysh |
#2Shemeska_the_MarauderMar 09, 2004 23:23:32 | I'd suggest that all of the Dark 8 might have records but that of them all, only Furcas (Mortal Relations) and Baalzephon (Supply) would have anything resembling complete or accurate records relating to that particular prime world. After all, they're the only two members of the Dark 8 that are the original Pit Fiend of the name to hold the office, the others have at least on one occasion been killed and covertly replaced with a minimum of fuss. Baatezu records are all filtered through the politics of who is in office and who has taken over the position of a former office holder. The truth to Baatezu is flexible the moment somebody new takes office, but after it's been changed by the new officeholder in question well, its always been the way it is now. As such Baatezu records get iffy at best beyond the present period as older records are being constantly adjusted and reinterpreted to fit the whims of the current rulership. I'd suggest that the Ministry of Mortal Relations would be the best place to start inquiries on the topic, and then move on from there. They have offices all over Baator. Something to be said for Baatezu ideas of redundancy. ;) Yugoloth records, if they were used in any mercenary capacity on this prime world would be the most accurate. Still its a relative thing, but the 'loths treat the Blood War and their records of it like researchers observing an experiment. And that's closer to the truth than many would like to think... Their records of course are bottled up tight within Gehenna in the labyrinthine archives of the Tower of the Arcanaloths. They might be willing to sell information to the right bidder however, you can always inquire. *grins and pulls you out a seat to sit down and talk* |
