#1angalMar 23, 2004 17:30:47 | Ok My players are whining about knights of the rose, So is it just us or do you need to be lvl 20/21/22 to get lvl ten in that class? (The 20/21/22 is if you take less lvls in cleric) so can someone tell me if there is anouther way? This is what my plays said you need to become one I realy don't care cuz its there class not mine so I'm not realy looking at it 4 cleric 3 Knight of the Crown (or 1 Knight of the Crown and 2 levels of any other full base attack bonus class) 3 Knight of the Sword. If anyone could tell me a way to take it earlyer that would be great Thanks Patrick |

#3iltharanosMar 23, 2004 18:03:31 | Assuming a pure cleric approach, one could reach level 10 Rose knight via: Cleric 4/Crown 2/Sword 3/Rose 10 = 19th level. EDIT: Make that Cleric 4/Crown 3/Sword 3/Rose 10 = 20th level. |
#4The_White_SorcererMar 23, 2004 18:18:20 | Fastest route to the Rose: Ftr4/Crown1/Clr2/Sword3 Add 10 levels of Rose to that and you'll be 20th-level. Crown Knight requires: +3 BAB, +4 Fort. Ftr4 has +4 BAB and +4 Fort, meeting the requirements. Sword Knight requires: +6 BAB, +4 Will, 1st-level spells, and one level of Crown. Ftr4/Crown1/Clr2 has +6 BAB, +4 Will, and 1st-level spells, meeting the requirements. Rose Knight requires: +8 BAB, +7 Will, 2nd-level spells, and three levels of Sword. Ftr4/Crown1/Clr2/Sword3 has +8 BAB, +7 Will, and 3rd-level spells, meeting the requirements. |
#5NivedMar 23, 2004 19:18:55 | I hardly think its useless, it give Paladin abilities (or better) and has full caster progression, it had darn well better be a high level PrC. There's a reason most Rose Knights in novels are portrayed as old men. |
#6cam_banksMar 23, 2004 21:15:22 | Originally posted by The White Sorcerer Clr4 also meets the requirements. So does a Rgr4 or Pal4, although the cleric route ends up with a better divine spellcaster. Clr7/Crown1/Sword1 is a level behind the default configuration but has a caster level 8 compared to the default's caster level 3. Two more levels of Sword, and you have a Clr7/Crown1/Sword3 candidate for the Rose, meaning that with the 1st Rose level the Knight has a caster level 11, still 5 caster levels ahead of the default Rose Knight and only one character level behind. That means the cleric-focused Rose Knight can end up casting 6th level spells while the fighter-focused Rose Knight is still on 3rd level spells. Of course, there's a difference in hit points, but the cleric's saves are better. Favored soul (from the Miniatures Handbook) is another very good route to Sword and Rose Knight - and it's a spontaneous caster. Cheers, Cam |

#8dragontoothMar 24, 2004 8:34:51 | Originally posted by The White Sorcerer The Sword, and Rose Knights make excellent cleric PrC's. The Rose Knight also makes a great fighter PrC, or Paladin PrC. Fighter with small amount of Clerical powers. I would suggest going higher up as a Crown Knight before trying to advance into the Sword, and Rose part mainly due to some of the neat abilities the Crown Knights offer if your going to be mainly a fighter at heart. |
#9zombiegleemaxMar 24, 2004 10:00:24 | The Rose Knight's just a great fighter, cleric, or fighter/cleric PrC. Full BAB, d10 HP, and full caster progression PLUS Special abilities....sign me right the hell up for that! |
