#1bengeldornMar 23, 2004 17:51:52 | I consider making a campaign about the obsidian man. Till now, I only know that something is in the timing line. Are there any other sources about it? If there are, which ones? |
#2NefalMar 23, 2004 18:57:42 | Hallo! there's something in the AD&D 2nd Manual of Artifacts (or something so...) With the complete description of the artifact and the circlet which could command it. Could you read french? I've only this book in fench... |
#3zombiegleemaxMar 23, 2004 19:11:14 | The Obsidian Man is detailed in the 2nd edition Book of Artifacts, (page 63). It gives some information about the history of the Obsidian Man, but its true origin is up for speculation. This book also contains the Psychometron of Nerad, the Rod of Teeth, and The Silencer of Bodach. There are a few other items that could be dropped into athas, but artifacts have a way of being involved in gods or being inappropriate for the setting. Possibilities: Acorn of Wo Mai: Involves fiends, which could be bad depending on your view of the planes of Athas. Also has some eastern influence, which can be removed if necessary. Axe of Dwarvish Lords: Anchient artifact from before the cleansing wars? History could be worked into CW lore easily. Baba Yaga's Hut: *shudders* Book With No End: Remove part of history, tie up with Rajaat. Codex of Infinite Planes: see Book With No End, of course ties in with interplanar travel Crystal of the Ebon Flame: Another dwarvish pre-cleansing wars tie in. Iron Bow of Gesen: Iron Bow of Coraanu? Iron Flask of Tuerny the Merciless: Defiler item possibly Kuroth's Quill: Could use a little work, and while writing is a very small part of Athas, being the only character capable of writing could make for very interesting situations concerning the Quill... Recorder of Ye'Cind: With a little work, this could be the Recorder of Coraanu... Ring of Gaxx: Crazy. Perfect for Athas. |
