#1iltharanosMar 24, 2004 10:05:18 | Hey, it's wednesday ... so where's my free pdf? EDIT: Hehe, nevermind, I just saw it. Only because of my lazy ass did I not look beyond the main page of the Dragonlance.com website. |
#2DragonhelmMar 24, 2004 10:21:32 | Give a guy a chance to make an announcement! lol Here goes... This week, Dragonlance.com presents the third preview of the upcoming Bestiary of Krynn - the Whisper Spider. This particular monster weighs in at 900 pounds, and is large enough to eat a horse! Bestiary Preview #3 |
#3lugnut71Mar 24, 2004 10:25:23 | I like the fact that it is a giant spider that feints in combat to get sneak attacks. Don't know why just think it is cool. Actually I guess I like it because it makes it more unique then other giant intelligent spiders. |
#4iltharanosMar 24, 2004 10:42:08 | S'all cool Dragonhelm, as is so often the case, I leap first then look. ;) You've gotta love huge poisonous web-throwing sneak-attacking spiders. Throw in some rogue levels and damn, that's scary. |
#5brimstoneMar 24, 2004 11:55:39 | Very cool. So, where did this one come from? An older Bestiary, a novel, a module, new...enquiring minds want to remember. heh heh |
#6DragonhelmMar 24, 2004 12:34:24 | Originally posted by Brimstone Cam can tell you for certain, but I believe it shows up in some of the original modules (around DL12 and DL13 I think), as well as the 2e DL Monstrous Compendium. Cam, can you elaborate? |

#9cam_banksMar 24, 2004 14:43:48 | Our friend the whisper spider is one of those creatures like the skyfisher, eyewing and 'wari that just never seem to have been given any real reason to exist before yet are unique to Dragonlance. One of the things Andre' and I set out to do was uncover all of the older creatures, forgotten monsters, and badly abused beasts which populated some of the earlier products and bring them up to date for 3.5 and give them a new lease on life. Some of them just can't be helped, but I think folks will like what we did with the ones we ended up reviving. Cheers, Cam |

#11lugnut71Mar 24, 2004 14:58:08 | I agree I like all three of the pictures I have seen so far. With the forestmaster being my favorite. |
#12sweetmeatsMar 24, 2004 16:14:41 | I don't think much of the Whisper Spider artwork. Looks a bit too cartoon-ish for my tastes. Nice beastie though. I like it's conversion to 3.5 though. Nicely done. |
