Now I was woundering if there was away around the pre recs of these classes, becouse well Look at Sturm, he had no lvls in cleric, he was just a full plate wearing basturd wielding fighter, and like just before he died he became a knight of the rose, so whats up with that? is t just like "Well its a book we can just do that you know and umm....look over there!" Or is it that you have the Title and not the class?

He was made a Knight of the Crown, not a Knight of the Rose. Gunthar couldn't elevate him to the Order of the Rose, even though Sturm was wearing his father's Rose armor and bearing his sword. Given this, it's possible he could have qualified for the Crown Knight class.

No Knight of Solamnia had cleric levels at that time (for obvious reasons).

I'm hoping for a non-spellcasting version of the Sword and Rose classes in War of the Lance.

Nope. He was a squire for most of Chronicles. Remember when he first disobeyed Derrick Crowngaurd, Derrick made it very clear that Sturm was not a knight yet. He was made a Knight of the Crown on Lord Gunthar's Honor. Think of it as gaining temporary Knighthood till more witnesses could be called. Laurana then testified before the council and Sturm's Knighthood was confirmed.

Till the WotL book comes out a solution can be that Rose and Crown knights can exist without taking Levels in the Prestige Classes. You can be a High Ranking Rose knight and just be a Figther 10/ Crown Knight 10, assuming that you passed all your tests. This is most important when there are no divine casters on Krynn, but we still have Rose knights.

Yes, Ive kind of noticed a theme with that....All the best known hero knights of solamnia were Knights of the Crown...Sturm...Huma...and to a degree when you see a Knight take on a heroic role in a novel he always seems to be a Crown Knight.....Ive tended to notice that the upper echelons of the knights seem to sit on their laurels and govern.

The Rose Knights are just so wrapped up in politics. LOL Besides if you always had Rose Knights running around being hero's you would lose the upper leadership of the Knighthood when they all sacrified themselves.

Which is funny, because the Rose and Sword knights are supposed to be what epitomizes the knighthood...all chivalric and self sacrificing.....what was the last Rose knight you ever heard of that sacrificed something besides a meal?

Although originally he was supposed to be a Knight of the Crown, not a Knight of the Rose. Doesn't rule you out from being Grandmaster, you know!
