#1zombiegleemaxApr 03, 2004 12:07:55 | Getting ready to run Beyond the Spider Moon. Does anyone remember which pantheon the humans worship? |
#2nightdruidApr 03, 2004 19:51:38 | Doesn't say, so I'd imagine they worship the same deities as in the PHB. |
#3void_spriteApr 05, 2004 18:35:18 | The article mentions several gods from the PHB, so I used them as well. Additionally I added Ptah and Set from the Egyptian pantheon. The desert planet detailed in the article in particular has some clear Egyptian influences, so in my version of "Pyrespace" the Egyptian pantheon are the elder gods of the sphere. Set corrupted the humans that eventually became the yuan-ti (stole that idea from FR) and slew most of the pantheon, including the sun god Ra. Pelor arose from the ashes of Ra to become the new sun god and to introduce the younger gods to the sphere. Ptah and Set are the only survivors of the elder pantheon, but Ptah is a forgotten god. Both he and Set are slumbering on their respective worlds/planes but are still able to grant spells to any who call upon their names. I used Ptah and Set as detailed in Deities and Demigods for 3E. Hope that gives you some ideas to work with. |

#6zombiegleemaxApr 24, 2004 5:00:02 | Refresh my memory - Which pantheon is the deity Celestian from?. |

#8darktouchApr 27, 2004 21:47:55 | I thought I remembered the Dwarves having worshipped Moradin as well. I'd have said the gods are the 'D&D pantheon' as per Dieties and Demigods.(IE. The gods in the PHB) |

#10nightdruidApr 28, 2004 10:15:41 | Originally posted by Bookwyrm Yep, positive. I checked the "From the Ashes" box, which has a deities chart on it. Celestian is "OC", which means Oeridean/Common (aka he started off as primarially as an Oeridean god, but became popular in areas of "mixed" populations as well). |
