#1rhazApr 09, 2004 21:39:50 | I'm considering brushing off my SJ stuff and want to run my group through the cluster. Has anyone done a 3.0 / 3.5 conversion? TIA, Rhaz |
#2zombiegleemaxMay 07, 2004 1:28:12 | I ran an Astromundi campaign for about 2 years using 3.0. It's one of the easiest backgrounds to convert that I've seen in a long time. There is nothing really new in the boxed set. They just put it together in an original way. Just mine all of the "fluff" (how the Thoric are set up, what the Antilians are up to, etc.) and get the "hard" rules from a site like Beyond the Moons or www.shatteredfractine.com . I really liked the variety of backgrounds that the setting gives you. If you want Italian city-state type intrigue, just get the players over to the Varan planetiods. Strait-up bug-hunt, you got the Illithid or the beholder empires to go play in. Roman style politics, heavy trade emphasis, or anti-slavery campaign, you got your Antilians. Hope you have fun. |
#3bigmacJun 13, 2004 1:02:52 | Is there a standard method for converting the statisitics of God's? I'd really like to know this as I'm currently playing a 3.5e Calidan character who is a cleric of Tradifos. I know that Tradifos is based on a Celtic God (called something like MacMannonLir) but WotC didn't do the Celtic Gods when they redid the TSR supplement that origionally had them. :-( |

#6bigmacJul 04, 2004 22:30:26 | I just looked on the Beyond the Moons site and found a set of stats for the deities and priesthoods of Astromundithat Terry Hawkins has knocked up for the 2nd Edition. Although I was really looking for 3e this is a great start for me (as TSR never actually bothered to produce any stats for the priests and their gods). I did love the Asromundi Cluster, but when I tried to knock together some handouts for the sphere, I noticed a lot of missing and conflicting information. It is great to see that Terry has filled a little bit of it in. I shall try to adapt these to 3e from Terry's list. I know that there are no god conversion rules, but does anyone know of any god creation rules? I'd like to make sure the deities are about equal in power to deities anywhere else in wildspace, and if someone has done half the work there is no point me duplicating it. ;) |
#7green_giant_02Jul 06, 2004 18:15:24 | You should look in this thread and ask or PM Tebryn14 if he is willing to give it a shot. If the Gods of the Astromundi Cluster are based on Celtic gods, you're in luck because Tebryn14 has started to post some of them. |
#8bigmacJul 18, 2004 22:47:13 | After finding my Astomundi Cluster Boxed set and my copy of Legends and Lore, I decided to knock up my own 3e conversion or Tradifos. I haven't worked out the stats for Tradifos' Avatar or his weapons. I'm sure that this would be possible but I don't think I'll need him. How does this look for game balance? Tradifos/(Manannan mac Lir) (Intermediate God) The god of wildspace/(The Celtic god of the sea) Alignment: Lawful Neutral Domains: Animal, Air, Knowledge, Law, Protection, Travel, Water Favored Weapon: "Retaliator" (bastard sword) Symbol: A fish Portfolio: wildspace & space travellers/(oceans & sea creature) Tradifos is the knowledgeble guardian of wildspace. He travels through The Cluster on a chariot pulled by various space creatures. He wears armour made from metal and shells of space creatures and carries a bastard sword called "Retaliator". Although the gods of the Astromundi Pantheon are worshiped in other Crystal Spheres, they use different names within the Shattered Sphere. Elsewhere, Tradifos is known as Manannan mac Lir, a Celtic sea god, although here has become a god of wildspace instead of the sea and his religion has been adjusted to fit in with his new portfolio. Clerics of Tradifos recieve spells normally in any crystal sphere where Mannan mac Lir is worshiped and clerics of Mannan mac Lir recieve spells normally in the Astromundi Cluster. The church of Tradifos includes both clerics and druids. His divine servants may be of either class. They must either base themselves in busy ports or keep moving. Worshipers of Tradifos are mainly Calidan travellers. Dogma: Protect wildspace, its creatures and those who travel through it from the incursions of evil. |
