#1gm_wilApr 10, 2004 8:34:39 | - An early exerpt from their Journal Keegan trudged through the snow quietly, watching the trees ahead. The archer’s ability to spot trouble was what elected him to walk point. The half-elf held his bow and a finger was wrapped around the shaft of an arrow, holding it in place. His other hand was cupped by his mouth. With every exhale Despee tried to warm his chilled fingers. Vorphalack followed the archer, step-for-step, placing his boots into the tracks left by the half-elf. The ranger studied the snow, drifts, tracks, and trees for any sign of disturbance. The human wanted to make sure if anything had crossed their path, he’d now what it was and how many there were. He tightened the strap of his quiver to quiet the hollow rattle of arrow shafts as they bounced together. Tolak stomped through the snow as quietly as a half-orc could. The barbarian carried his ax over a shoulder while he held the winter-wolf’s pelt under his other arm. The skin would bring a good price if they decided to sell it. Across his back was the double-scimitar that once belonged to the "Hunter." The weapon would make a fine prize to mount over the fireplace back in Godakin Keep in their headquarters, Blade Manor. Tolak snorted, sending a cloud of vapor from his face like a maddened bull. His toothy grin was followed by a self-congratulating chuckle. Garmond, with his bow ready, listened for anything out of the ordinary as best as he could in the wind as it howed through branches. The rattle of ice pellets could be heard as they danced across the frozen waves of wind-washed drifts. The sorcerer patted his side to make sure his scrolls were ready if he were to need their magical scripts. He was anxious to get back to Godakin and bury his nose in some spell books. If the last few days reflected what the future would hold, he’d need every one of them. Raylien held his hood down over his forehead, shielding his face from the blowing snow. The quiet monk strode through the snow with very little on his back and even less in the way of clothing. His satchel of brushes and bottles of paint rode lightly because most of the oily pigment had been used to create the flag they left flying above Brightstone Keep. The flag was a testament to their abilities and their devotion to defend those who lived in the land under Godakin’s vigil. The last member in their column was the cleric. Marsik, devotee of Trithereon, walked proudly with the others. His skills had not only brought healing to them when they needed it, but his talents to cure disease and sickness had also shown true. This adventure had proven, without a doubt, that his calling to aid this group in their endeavors was divine. The priest stopped and lowered the shield he’d been using to block the wind. He hung his mace on his belt and lifted a hand to block the falling snow. In the distance he could see the crumbling remains of Brightstone Keep. The clouds parted momentarily and a few rays rained down from the heavens. A shaft of light fell upon the giant flag as it flapped in the wind above the highest tower. Marsik smiled at the warmth Trithereon had given them on the coldest of days. As the flag fluttered, he took it as a wave from the fates. Marsik waved back and turned to follow the others, disappearing into the haze of falling snow. ------------------------------------ Here's a link to the home page with our DnD Campaign (Detailed Sketch of Godakin Keep with a page on each building) and our STAR WARS campaign http://homepage.mac.com/wilknoble - |
#2ArgonApr 10, 2004 10:25:44 | Nice excerpt, sounds good too bad you can't play in LG Keoland I'm sure they would like GM's like you around. I can't say anything for myself I usually don't have the time for anything like the LG sanctioned games at this time but I would like to try a few sessions at least just to experience it! |
#3gm_wilApr 10, 2004 20:07:40 | thanks . . . I'm our GM for STAR WARS but I am a player for D&D. Our DM has been running campaigns for quite a few years and it's a shame his intimate knowledge of Greyhawk isn't put to better use. After playing in his campaigns I can't understand why Greyhawk isn't more popular. |
