Because if its wrong I don't want to be right.

Can't wait for the beastiary to lay the smack down on my party... not that I'm out to KILL my party... but I can make them suffer a bit... right?

Looks good. I'm a little confused as to the role Chaos creatures are playing in the setting right now though. Do they largely exist in the Abyss or in scattered pockets on the Prime Material?

More importantly, is Chaos still around and are they still following his wishes?

If you read the text, you'll note that they're created from the tormented souls of the dead by Chaos to serve as his minions. Thus, they're undead, but the extraplanar subtype notes that they're not "from around here". It was important for us to retain their undead traits while still making them alien to Krynn, so that was the best solution - one which 3.5 D&D helped us out with.

After the War of Souls, any daemon warriors that remain on Krynn are leftovers from the Chaos War. There were many drawn from the Abyss to fight for Chaos, and being independent and cunning creatures some have survived after the defeat of their creator. Of course, they're a heck of a lot less numerous. And, there's always the chance some mad Chaos-worshipping cultist might summon them to Krynn himself.

Sorry for spouting off inaccurate information. Read Cam's post on the reasons behind the typing/sub-typing of the creatures.

He's really done a good job of the pieces he was asked to do in the Bestiary of Krynn. In fact, a few of my absolute favorite Bestiary ilustrations are Ron Spencer's.

*cackles maniacally* Aye, Ron's one of my favorite genre artists, period, hence the reason I dragged him in to working on the Bestiary... and it has nothin' to do with me wanting him to illustrate one of my monsters in the book... nope, no reason what-so-ever... no, really...

It's been a while since I last looked so I may be wrong, but I thought the weapon could/will be damaged everytime you hit a Daemon Warrior...not just when you kill it.

Has that been changed because it was just too much, or am I remembering it wrong?

We may have tried to even things out a little with them, but I think it's still very faithful to the original concept.

Those are shadow wights (and frost wights).

Ok, those guys. IMHO, probably the scariest monster a party could ever face, bar none. I mean, even the biggest, oldest, baddest dragons and/or demons might kill you in one massive attack, but there's always the chance someone could resurrect you. Even "True Resurrection" only requires the memory of a person to bring them back, provided they didn't die of old age. If you get killed by a shadow/ frost wight? Not only are you dead, but no one will have ever known you, so no resurrection either. Now THATS nasty!
