#1caeruleusApr 19, 2004 11:42:27 | I just read in "In the Works" that the Complete Divine book coming out next month will contain "dozens of new deities from the Living Greyhawk campaign". I thought some people here might be happy to see some material that can be used in a Greyhawk campaign actually being published by WotC. I just hope it really does contain dozens of Greyhawk deities, and is not merely exagerating. Draco Caeruleus |

I also hope they do something with the Demi-Human pantheon so we have some material on the Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, and other dieties and thier respective domains. I mean I think we only have the major diety from each one and then Sahine(?) Moonbow for the Elves. I have heard they have given domains for some of them in the Forgotten Realms campain but I don't know if it is compatable for Oerth. Does anyone know or at least know where I could find more info on them? Any help would be great. |

#4simpiApr 19, 2004 15:02:06 | I also think they might just give us complete LG deity listing, maybe throwing in couple of more detailed looks to few deities. But anything is better than nothing Learning something about Orc pantheon might be nice. I know some very old dragon had something about them (Baghtru was in that article IIRC). |
#5chatdemonApr 19, 2004 16:49:26 | I just take issue with WotC constantly calling rehashed material "new". Yeah, it'll be cool to see a few more of the Greyhawk deities fleshed out a bit, but new? Come on now. Of the deities listed in that master list Brom Blackforge linked to, only a very small handful are actually new to the setting. Most of them are old obscure Greyhawk gods (such as the Olman and Touv deities culled from Scarlet Brotherhood) that didn't make the LGG but got used by the LG folks anyway. New Greyhawk material would be great. "Greyhawk material revisited" is cool, but lets call apples apples folks. |

#7cwslyclghApr 19, 2004 19:53:30 | Just out of curiosity, what percentage of the gods included in Complete Warrior find their origins in Greyhawk? None (or so I believe with out checking... I do not recall recognizing any of the names in the CW). |
#8caeruleusApr 19, 2004 20:15:15 | Originally posted by chatdemon That was a direct quote, where it used the word "new", but that's a good thing to point out, chatdemon. Again, I suppose I just thought it cool that they have something coming out that's related to Greyhawk. One thing to keep in mind... in the Expanded Psionics Handbook, there's information in the back on Zuoken and Ilsensine, in a "new format" (again, a direct quote) which includes information on cleric training, quests, prayers, temples, rites, and heralds and allies (mind you, each of these entries gets just a paragraph). The heralds and allies lists are something new. Anyway, not to say that we can expect something big for Greyhawk here... just that there's something coming, in case anyone's interested in that. #9protonik_dupApr 19, 2004 20:49:31 | Urmmm... have you guys seen Deities & Demigods or Faiths & Pantheons? Both books have information on the demihuman pantheons and extrapolating them OUT of the F&P is pretty easy and heck, it is a better books than Deities and Demigods anyway... Jason |
#10caeruleusApr 20, 2004 13:48:44 | Originally posted by protonik The link from Brom Blackforge's post will take you to a listing of those deities for Greyhawk. So the material's out there; but as I've said before, it's just kinda nice to see WotC publishing that info. Draco |
