#1zombiegleemaxApr 27, 2004 13:14:19 | What would the Dnd stats for Kharas be? See, I have a game where the PCs will eventually meet him and there is a chance there will be a few fights with him in it. I was thinking some kind of Fighter/Cleric (more levels of fighter than cleric) witha large holy +X warhammer. |
#2NivedApr 27, 2004 13:36:02 | Well its just my opinion, but I believe Kharas is a paladin. |
#3cam_banksApr 27, 2004 13:43:23 | It's a little hard to be a paladin or fighter/cleric in a time when the gods have left after dropping a burning mountain on Istar. Kharas would be a fighter or fighter/noble, who just acted in accordance with the tenets of the gods of Good. Cheers, Cam |
#4DragonhelmApr 27, 2004 13:54:02 | I'd place him as a fighter/dwarven defender with the honor-bound feat. While he may act like a paladin, there is no divine magic at the time. Honor-bound would then represent that aspect of his nature. |

#6ferratusApr 27, 2004 14:01:12 | I think a question is whether or not Kharas is pre-cataclysm. We know he is in his middle age, and had the esteem of the Knights of Solamnia. Probably spent some time up in Kharolis. If he is a Paladin, it could be that he simply has a caster level of 0. However, since the gods didn't truly leave, but people simply stopped worshipping as they should, he may still have his powers. After all, unlike the 5th Age, the gods didn't really go anywhere. The mortals simply stopped beleiving in the gods out of hate. Of course, that is all dependent on whether or not Paladins were taken up to the dome of creation with all of the clerics at the time of the cataclysm. A moot point I suppose, since the official canon is that paladins don't exist on Krynn because Knights of Solamnia are supposedly their replacements. A decision I think is a foolish one (given that they are all human and connected to the Solamnic country), but there you go. But anyway, honour-bound fighter/noble sounds good enough, but I can see the case for a Paladin. It isn't so cut and dried as we might think. |
#7dragontoothApr 27, 2004 18:16:16 | I think Khars was a Fighter/ Dwarven Defender and I would place his level around 15ish maybe slightly higher. And Paladin do exsist on Krynn. Laurana mentioned about a great elven paladin that forged the Lost Star Khars weapon is the Hammer of Khars which he didn't forge, but was given to him as a gift. And the stats can be found in the DLCS pg. 270 |
#8DragonhelmApr 27, 2004 19:45:09 | You're pretty close on level. In Tales of the Lance, Kharas is listed as a 14th level fighter. Here's his stats: S 18/56 D 14 C 16 I 12 W 17 Ch 10 He's LG in alignment, and has 78 HP (I'd re-roll that). BTW, Kharas is a Solamnic word meaning "knight". I'd go with a Fighter 7/Dwarven Defender 7. |
#9iltharanosApr 27, 2004 19:46:55 | Originally posted by UnUnUndead Well, the 1st edition stats for Kharas had him as a 14th level fighter. You could extrapolate from this number and have him be any number of classes totalling to 14 levels. |
#10zombiegleemaxApr 28, 2004 13:09:31 | I would put him as a clean fighter. A fighter doesn't could easily be a member of the high society without noble levels. I don't see Kharas as a Dwarven Defender, I see him as a alround foot-knight. |
#11zombiegleemaxMay 08, 2004 10:19:18 | i think he would be a dwarven defender, during the time of the cataclysm, karas refused to fight other dwarfs, even going against the order of his thane. the only reason he did fight was because he knew that if all the hill dwarfs entered thorbardin then all the dwarfs would die. but yes i would say fighter7/defnder7 |
#12zombiegleemaxMay 08, 2004 14:27:49 | We plan on having the stats of Kharas in next year's LEGENDS OF THE TWINS sourcebook (for his role in WAR OF THE TWINS). Jamie Chambers Sovereign Press, Inc. |
