The Ballad of GreyTalk Chat (tonight, thursday 4-29)

8 PM Eastern Standard Time / 1am GMT (friday) til whenever!

Come chat about any and all things Greyhawk. Discuss the recent Canonfire! postfest, Greyhawk in Dungeon & Dragon magazines, the latest GH bits in the D&D core rule books or anything else that's on your mind. (Within reason of course, it is a Greyhawk chat, after all)

Folks are there all night, so don't let being late scare you off.

As usual, the chat takes place on the Psionics.net irc server, and there are two basic options for those wishing to come by:

Point your irc client to:
Server: chat.psionics.net
Port: 6667
Channel: #greytalk

Irc clients are advanced chat programs, such as mirc, pirch, trillian,
etc. Visit http://www.psionics.net/downloads.html if you don't have an
irc client and would like to download one for free.

If you don't have an irc client, Psionics.net and Canonfire.com have
joined forces to make the chats accesible to you! Visit
http://www.psionics.net/chat/java/chat1.html to use the handy Java
interface.

Once the applet loads, just replace -guest- with your desired nickname
for the chat and select -greytalk- from the drop down channel menu. Then
click the -Connect Now!- button and voila, you're chattin in Greychat!

Apr 30, 2004 1:09:06 I don't know what the problem is, but it won't let me log in to chat tonight. 2nd or 3 time I've had this problem since Psion.net changed its home page. Any one else having this problem? I don't have an IRC program.

Apr 30, 2004 9:40:04 I had to switch to a different chat utility since Psion.net changed its applet. I don't know why, but there is an error in the script of the new applet at Psion.net.

I use the free mIRC (which is so basic it is almost appalling) and it works fine.

Maybe a couple of Web savvy chatters will post another utility or some other option to get into Greytalk.

May 01, 2004 9:25:26 Ok I had a similar problem but this is what you could do don't choose to go directly to greytalk and enter your password name instead go past that part of the screen further down you will see another chat button you will choose your guest name and then you will be sent into some appelet window type in /JOIN #greytalk and then you will be grey talking in no time .
