#1hatrelApr 29, 2004 20:53:43 | OK, I am confused... I get an email from Amazon stating that this book was coming out 4/04 and gave a discount for ordering it ahead of time. "Great," I say... However, the shipping on the object gets delayed because it says not released yet. My question to anyone that wants to help me out here is ... Was this book scheduled to come out this April? I cannot find reference to it anywhere on the Official DL Sites. Is the big A website confused? Help me out DL Masters... |
#2DragonhelmApr 29, 2004 21:10:11 | Holy Orders of the Stars has been delayed to 2005. Once we have info from Jamie on the book, we'll be sure to post it on Dragonlance.com. |
#3hatrelApr 29, 2004 21:21:59 | Originally posted by Dragonhelm Holy Moly!!! I was assuming as much. Thanks Trampas. I informed Amazon of their error. I was really looking forward to that too!!! |
#4DragonhelmApr 29, 2004 23:30:40 | Originally posted by Hatrel I'm looking forward to the book as well. Until then, I'm highly anticipating Towers of High Sorcery. There should be all sorts of wizardly goodness in there. |
#5zombiegleemaxApr 30, 2004 15:51:29 | Originally posted by Hatrel While we have mentioned HOLY ORDERS we have never announced the product to distributors or retailers, so I have no earthly idea just where Amazon is getting their information from--just another bizarre note to put on for Renae. Right now the book is set for early 2005. Jamie Chambers Sovereign Press, Inc. |

#7silvanthalasApr 30, 2004 16:32:47 | Originally posted by Hatrel Normally, I would suggest to anybody to use Amazon.com for their online book purchasing. However, in the case of Sov Press & DL game products, I would highly suggest avoiding Amazon.com until you know for sure that a product is actually out and Amazon.com says as much. Otherwise, you don't know what to expect from them. |

#9hatrelApr 30, 2004 16:39:10 | It seems that I opend Pandora's Box... |
#10zombiegleemaxMay 02, 2004 5:10:57 | *can't resist peeking inside the lovely box* Holy Order delayed until 2005? Towers of High Sorcery all ready to go. Hmmm.... *rubs hands together eagerly* Time to squish little clerics under unbending arcane might....er, sorry, meant to think that not type it. On a serious note, however, has anyone heard exactly why Holy Order has been delayed? I hope it is so they can add more content, not just editing or business reasons. |
#11kipper_snifferdoo_02May 02, 2004 8:13:39 | Originally posted by DarkWizard It wasn't delayed. As Jamie said above: While we have mentioned HOLY ORDERS we have never announced the product to distributors or retailers, so I have no earthly idea just where Amazon is getting their information from--just another bizarre note to put on for Renae. Right now the book is set for early 2005. SP announced they would do the book. But they never announced an actual date for the book. Amazon got something wrong somewhere. ;) |
#12zombiegleemaxMay 02, 2004 9:40:24 | Originally posted by DarkWizard The product isn't delayed. It was never officially announced! Our license limits us in the number and types of products we produce in a year, so even if we had the resources to produce a dozen Dragonlance products a year, we would be unable to do so. Holy Orders is tentatively scheduled for a first quarter 2005 release. Thanks! Jamie Chambers Sovereign Press, Inc. |
#13NivedMay 02, 2004 11:23:15 | Hey Jamie, can you at least answer me in an yes/no fashion whether the Druids will get any love in the Holy Orders? I know they aren't technically part of the 'Holy Order of Stars' but since they are servents of the Gods I was hopeing. |
#14zombiegleemaxMay 02, 2004 14:11:10 | Originally posted by Nived Druids, monks, and paldins will all "get some love" in Holy Orders, though clerics and related PrCs will probably get most of the attention. Jamie Chambers Sovereign Press, Inc. |
#15zombiegleemaxMay 09, 2004 17:10:35 | Will Holy Orders include any material on incorporating material from the Books of Exalted Deeds and Vile Darkness into Dragonlance? |
#16zombiegleemaxMay 09, 2004 21:29:47 | I highly doubt it will. Basically because they dont want to assume possession of other books. But also I think that SP is staying away from the mature tag on anything. Tracy Hickman wrote an empassioned arguement against the Book of Vile Darkness before it came out, and as far as I am aware he still feels the same way about it. Anyhow, I hope that SP stays away from the use of the mature line for the DL products...I have always prided myself on playing in a setting that I would be happy to have my parents join in on for an evening when they visit, or my kids could play in when they are old enough to grasp the game. |
