Do the two Elven clans of Karameikos (Callarrii and Vyalia) have access to a Tree of Life?

I'm re-reading the Alfheim Gazetteer right now and the history of the Elves, and all this talk of the Sylvan Realm and the Rainbow and whatnot is all very interesting - but it implies that the only Trees of Life that came East from the Sylvan Realm were the ones that went to Alfheim, and it isn't explicitly mentioned if there are more out there. I guess I need to develop more knowledge regarding demi-human clan relics.

Hey, kind of related:
What is this 'Rainbow Bridge' the elves discovered, is it detailed anywhere, and does it still exist? It was only mentioned that it became too dangerous to use... not that it went away.

Note: I have CM7 - that search for the Sylvan Realm module - but actually haven't read it yet! Perhaps all these answers are cleverly concealed within that book.

Thanks for any insight!

The ToL question first. According to this article, each clan has a ToL, though the Vyalia's tree is in Greenheight, on the Thyatian side.

The Rainbow bridge is detailed in CM7. IMC it is a different plane that can be used to travel to different locations on Mystara and possibly to other planes aswell (Aasgard comes to mind..). It can still be accessed, but sufficient knowledge of astrology is required to predict where it will appear. The reason why it is dangerous to use these days, is that it is filled with monsters. IIRC CM7 had it be occupied with orcs and the like, but I think demons or nightmare creatures might be more appropriate.

http://dnd.starflung.com/elf2.html this article looks a bit closer at the Vyalia clan (and a couple of others) and whether they have a Tree of Life

http://dnd.starflung.com/mtrelif.html also looks at this (and may be a later version of the above article - hmmm)

In addition to any of the work previously done by people in expanding the clans there is the "official" position, which is "Maybe".

Published materials located 7 of the 10 primary trees of life leaving 3 for the DM to site (6 in Alfheim, 1 in the Sylvan Realm) with a stron suggestion that the Callari elves hold one. (Add in Wendar and Norworld for 9 and 10 anyone?)

However 10 is not the limit, there are a lot more than 6 in Alfheim, since most Trees of Life are the offspring of one of the 10 (The entire plot-line of "The Tree of Life" is curing the tree in Alfheim by curing its parent.)

The only real question is working out how lines of descent work, since numbers 2-10 were created when the elves left the Sylvan Realm originally and begun migration to Alfheim. Elves that have earlier origins probably have a descendant tree of the original Tree (in the Sylvan Realm still) or they may have an alternative to a Tree of Life the way the Minthroad elves do.

In general I would say they they will have a Tree of Life, but the question of the tree's parentage is entirely up to the DM.

According to Gaz. 3 Lady Eleesea Erewan of Glantri is the keeper of the Erewan Elves' Tree of Life, so that's one more. I am not sure what the de Belcadiz elves use...

If I remember correctly, CM7 states that several powerful monsters including a Gargantuan Troll lives in the Rainbow Bridge, which is an artifact created by either Ilsundal or Mealiden - I forget.

Spellweaver posited:

Since the Erewan clan split off from the Erendyl clan two centuries or so ago, I'd say that their tree is a daughter of the Erendyl tree, and thus not one of the "original 10".

Gaz3 also mentions that Dona Victoria is the Treekeeper of the Belcadiz clan, which has always seemed somewhat odd, since the Belcadiz don't seem very "traditionally" elvish, and their origins don't seem to be tied to the Ilsundal migration, but what the hey?
