I just skipped past it but I stumbled upon why they think that...pg 46 of the RlPhb says that a 9th level cleric won't destroy a 4HD wight...b/c of course it has a turning resistance of +1 which would require a 10th lvl cleric. |
#2zombiegleemaxMay 17, 2004 23:58:30 | I don't have my books in front of me but I believe in RL undead are only destroyed if they have nowhere to flee. A 10th level cleric turning a wight (with an avenue of escape) still only sends it packing for awhile. I assume an avenue to escape more or less translates as (1) a path out of sight of the cleric that (2) doesn't bring the fleeing undead closer to the cleric. -Eric Gorman |

Of course it is much harder. You would have to be a 6th level cleric just to destroy zombies. |
