Saragoss was fun--the characters never even saw Draga Saltbiter (or at least didn't recognize him for what he was) and were there for a few months of game time fighting off raiding parties. They finally escaped in a small raft they'd made after all the sailors on the ship they were on had been killed. Sebua was a big piece (this was when it was an island and not part of Har-a-kir), as the characters met Tiyet and she had them running errands for her (they never figured out that she was a mummy ) The best role-playing came from the House of Lament. The Paladin in the group ended up sacrificing himself for the spirit and the house was destroyed. I also ran them through all the "Shadowborn" related adventures, including the Light in the Belfry cd adventure and then they tangled with ebonbane. Aurora Shadowborn became a permanent npc until she died at the hands of Strahd von Zarovich in House of Strahd. I thought about running them into the Wildlands, but I was afraid I'd hear a near endless string of Steve Irwin quotes when they battled King Crocodile (I had a good group, but they got sidetracked and out of Ravenloft's mood too easily.) |
