Has anyone else seen part 4 of the Cult of Tharizdun article on the Wizards website? They misspelled Verbobonc - twice!
Damargath is a witness of Tharizdun who leads a temple of fifty-five members in the sewers beneath the city of Verbabonc. Most regions of the Flanaess are not friendly toward the cult of Tharizdun. Damargath's temple goes to great measures to avoid the First Army of the Church, which patrols the streets of this city because they know that these zealous warriors would take it upon themselves to hunt them if they knew that they were operating in this area.

Damargath had once been one of the high priests of Tharizdun in the city of Greyhawk, but he left along with ten of his most trusted henchmen to create a new division in this city. He has found numerous malcontents here who are not satisfied with their lives because of the usually sunless weather, or those who are dissatisfied with the leadership of "His Noble Lordship, the Viscount Langard of Verbabonc, Defender of the Faith." Damargath, posing as a noble from Greyhawk, has befriended his lordship and has become a member of the court. He continually worms his way closer to becoming an advisor, and he plans to one day make a play for leadership of the city, which would serve to subjugate all the people of the city under the will of Tharizdun.

.. and the favorite weapon of Tharizdun cult, as described in Complete Divine, has become "check toee"

Seriously though, better some mispelled articles on GH than none at all ;)

Well, I am not crazy about the "Witness of Tharizdun" moniker, either. It takes the mystery away from this cult, that I thought was enigmatic, secretive and mysterious. But, with the god's name right there in the above appelation, there goes a degree of mystery. I really liked Monte Cook's Doomdreamer a lot better. Way, way better. Doomdreamer is much more indicative of Tharizdun's paradigm, IMO.

I wonder, did Darrin Drader read The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, The Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil?

I'll stick with Doomdreamer. I know it is a PrC from RttToEE, but it is still a fitting name. And, I think it can be loosely applied to a cleric of the Sleeping God of high enough level and prestige.

Apparently no one caught the "'Grayhawk'" feats in Dragon.

I say Verbobonc as "Verb-ah-bonk" so I can see how it was misspelled. Not like it's anything to cry about...

[sniff]

No, seriously, it's not a big deal, and I would agree that it's better to have Greyhawk articles with spelling errors than no Greyhawk articles at all.

It's just sloppy. Actually, more than that, it seems to me like a sad little commentary on the state of Greyhawk at WotC.

I liked the first three of Drader's Cult of Tharizdun articles. I think he did a great job in those first three. The last one, noted above, is the only one I disagree with. Not only is it sloppy copy (he he, that rhymes), it is also too pretentious - it reaches too far.

Hey, Mortellan. What does "Vair-bear-bo!"? Am I missing somthin'?

Eh, you should see what folks are saying about the (just released) Complete Divine. That's sloppy work with a major S
