#1zombiegleemaxJun 02, 2004 9:15:40 | I really, really need 3e stats for this very cool character for a campaign I'm running. Can anybody please help me? Has anyone got any homebrew stats they could please post?? |
#2faraerJun 02, 2004 16:34:03 | In AD&D terms she's an MU30something. Don't know about 3E writeups. |
#3MortepierreJun 03, 2004 2:28:00 | I seem to remember a thread in which we discussed her stats, about two months ago. Something along the line of a 27th level epic Sorceress. Hmm, seems to have disappeared from the boards though. |
#4mortellanJun 03, 2004 2:53:49 | 27th level epic Sorceress With Mordy and Rary pushing that level I'd say she is better than that, given her background and longevity. she is considered a quasi-deity in one or two sources i've seen. I wouldn't have her lower than 30th level in any case. PrClass wise she would make a good Demonologist. |
#5MortepierreJun 03, 2004 6:58:50 | True. Perhaps even an Unseelie half-fey? She certainly seems to be more than a "mere" human. |
#6zombiegleemaxJun 03, 2004 9:57:09 | Return of the Eight 2nd Ed. has the most info about Iggwilv, including her level IIRC. I'll page through it when I get home later tonight and let you know what's up after I mow my lawn. ;) |
#7zombiegleemaxJun 03, 2004 11:40:02 | @Abysslin: Faster! (admittedly I don't have a lawn to mow) ;) from Return of the Eight - Iggwilv, "The Witch of Perrenland": Human female archmage of undefined level. Description: Either ravishing beauty or bald hideous crone. Known offspring: Iuz (with Graz'zt) and Drelzna (vampire-warrior, father unknown?) Stats: supragenious intelligence, AD&D level of spell effects beyond 25th (2e). She is said to be a master in fiend-summoning, planar exploration, and necromantic magic. That's about it. There's a page of her history, and a list of sources: T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil S1-4 Realms of Horror (pages 56-57, 78-79) WG5 Isle of the Ape (pages 6, 8, 43-44) WGR5 Iuz the Evil (page 3) Dragon #225 (Jan. '96) "Campaign Classics: Three Greyhawk Grimoires" (pages 49-54) Glorfinden |
#8grodogJun 03, 2004 11:59:00 | From Jason Zavoda's Greyhawk index:Demonomicon of Iggwilv [BK] Enjoy checking out the sources :D |
#9lincoln_hillsJun 10, 2004 15:00:34 | I'd avoid providing Iggwilv with any "inherited templates". I think the fact that she was born an ordinary mortal woman (albeit one of unusual talent) makes her ability to cow and manipulate demon lords all the scarier. I haven't got around to statting her up - and since I don't use epic levels (though she deserves 'em if ANYBODY does) my stat-block will look a lot less impressive than most. Something like: NE human female Sorceror 7, Adept 4, Geomancer 8, Shifter 1 (Casts as Sor 15, Adp 4) (I know her common representation is CE, but she has always struck me as too cold-blooded, calculating and manipulative for that alignment. Her "witch" stereotype suggests something more like a sorceror than a wizard to me: having some (minor) divine talents seems to fit, though I use adept because neither cleric nor druid felt quite right... If I used 3.5 I could sub 'mystic theurge', but Geomancer is such a freaky class - a clear case of a character CHOOSING not to be human. Her free-and-easy use of shape-shifting is one of the few things about Iggwilv that's clearly chronicled, so I don't feel guilty about adding the Shifter level: her true form as a Geomancer is thus well-hidden. Not having 9th-level spells hurts quite a bit, but it's part of the price I pay to give her divine access, right?) |
#10robbastardJun 12, 2004 15:31:51 | EGG seems to regard her as a demigoddess--see the Slayer's Guide to Dragons. |
#11zombiegleemaxJun 12, 2004 16:10:00 | I have that book but am unable to find the reference. Where exactly would one find it? |
#12gadodelJun 12, 2004 16:30:48 | Originally posted by Robbastard I'd be curious to learn about her worshippers. Until then, I'd make her a straight Wizard-20. How can she match up to Arch Fiends and Abyssal Lords? I'd consider giving her an Artifact. One that gives her more power and allows her to match wits with even the greatest of Fiends... One of the qualities of this Artifact should be that the owner must have gained possession of it through non-combative means. I.E. Seduction. Perhaps she got it from Graz'zt...or perhaps Graz'zt is trying to gain ownership of it for the first time... One of the Powers of the Artifact should be something akin to Compulsion... Just some thoughts. Spruce up the old witch a bit... |

#14mortellanJun 16, 2004 15:29:01 | Very good writeup Green Giant! The level breakdown is very close to what I used IMC. I even flirted with using the Witchqueen class too, nice touch. |
#15grodogJun 17, 2004 1:15:20 | Hmmm, I might have to go re-read the witch queen PrC.... |
#16zombiegleemaxJun 17, 2004 2:17:07 | Thank you so much Green Giant, I really love what you've done with her!! |
