#1bansheeJun 06, 2004 14:28:59 | I was running my group through "Out of the Darkness" (1st part of the 3 part module at the back of Dead Gods), and they decided to investigate the church by going to the Hall of Records. None of them are Fated. There are a bunch that have refused to join any faction, as well as a Sensate and a Godsman. I figure that the Fated probably don't want just anyone coming in off the street and snooping around, but that they can't just stop someone from going in, so I had the PCs have to bribe the doormen and pay an "admin fee". Does that sound about right? I was looking through the Factol's manifesto and couldn't find any specific regulations. Banshee |

If it is quicker and easier for you to have the PCs bribe their way into the Hall of Records, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. A person with enough jink can buy just about anything in Sigil. Personally, I would have had the PCs perform so minor task or feat before they could look for the knowledge that they desired. With the Fated philosophy being "things blong to those who can take it," it would have been appropriate to have the PCs needing to best the guards in a nonlethal fight. Or you could have even have them perform some sort of labor within the hall in order to earn the knowledge (for example, the PCs are allowed one hour to search for every hour the they sort and file unprocessed material), since the Fated don't believe in charity. Overall, it is merely a matter of being creative while keeping the apporpriate viewpoints in mind. :D |
