#1theredrobedwizardJun 06, 2004 19:58:13 | The book that every wizard on Ansalon has been waiting for (along with their DMs) is due out this month. YAY. This begs the question "When this month?" Most likely towards the end, as that's the general way of things in the RPG industry. The second question would be "So when do we get our nifty Web Enhancements?". My final question to you, the readers, players, DMs, and writers of the Dragonlance setting... "What happens if it gets pushed back again?" -TRRW |
#2theblackrobedarchmageJun 06, 2004 20:54:16 | I think I just found my birthday present... all who know me, take notes. |
#3silvanthalasJun 07, 2004 8:29:47 | Some have commented that the product should be ready in time for Origins? I don't pay much attention to the dates and names of conventions much. :P |
#4zombiegleemaxJun 07, 2004 14:13:05 | Is it coming out this month? I can hardly wait!! |
#5zombiegleemaxJun 07, 2004 15:31:30 | According to www.dragonlance.com it is already out. In fact, I have already purchased it from www.amazon.co.uk (sorry, that was the only copy) |
#6brimstoneJun 07, 2004 15:35:41 | Originally posted by cnposner What are you talking about? I don't see anywhere on the website where it says it's already out. |
#7karui_kageJun 07, 2004 15:49:58 | http://www.dragonlance.com/products/display.asp?id=395 Hmm. I hope the '1st Edition' information is incorrect... |
#8DragonhelmJun 07, 2004 15:53:29 | Originally posted by Brimstone It just says June 2004. I believe Jamie said something about Origins. |
#9zombiegleemaxJun 07, 2004 16:47:07 | Originally posted by Brimstone On http://www.dragonlance.com/products/new.asp it is listed as a new release. In any case, I have bought it and my order has been confirmed. It is to be dispatched by the 9th June. |
#10cam_banksJun 07, 2004 16:55:04 | Originally posted by cnposner No, it won't. I think Amazon is playing tricks on you. Cheers, Cam |
#11zombiegleemaxJun 07, 2004 21:58:50 | Originally posted by Karui_Kage 1st Edition doesn't refer to the rule set. It'd D&D 3.5. What it is referring to is books with multiple printings/editions. As for being out... Amazon is lying and so is DL.com. The June date is the last official one we have on record from Sovereign Press, but since I don't have anything more up-to-date in terms of an "actual" release date, it's listed as such. Maybe I'll just move that back later in the year and update it when I get an update release schedule... |
#12zombiegleemaxJun 08, 2004 5:36:17 | The second question would be "So when do we get our nifty Web Enhancements?". Grr. Web Enchancements annoy me. If they're any use, they should have been in the book in the first place. If they're not, then what's the point? Maybe I'm just bitter because Adobe Acrobat never works very well on my computer. Or on the campus ones. In fact, Adobe Acrobat is fairly rubbish. Bring back .txt files! |
#13theredrobedwizardJun 08, 2004 6:38:08 | Jeebus, d00d. Acrobat works just fine on every computer I've ever attempted to use it on. What the crap are you running, Mac OSX? If so, you sir are an idiot if you expect anything to run. If OS = Windows XP then; download Adobe Acrobat 6 If OS != Windows XP then; upgrade your OS. -TRRW |
#14cam_banksJun 08, 2004 7:22:39 | Originally posted by TheRedRobedWizard MacOSX works just fine for me, thankyouverymuch. Some of your favorite Dragonlance products were created thanks to the contributions of Apple's little share of the personal computer market. Cheers, Cam |
#15theredrobedwizardJun 08, 2004 7:26:49 | Allow me to rephrase: "I dislike MacOS because when I had it, I always had to wait 6 extra months for games and most freeware didn't work for me; hence MacOS = teh sux." All things being fair, Macs would own... but there is that little sticking point of everything getting released SO much later... and that they don't make a notebook with all the crap I need on it for less than $2k. So basically, I just don't like Macs. YMMV. -TRRW |
#16zombiegleemaxJun 08, 2004 8:21:48 | Sovereign Press is a publishing house that works almost exclusively on Macs! If you have a Sovereign Stone or Dragonlance game product, it was created on a Macintosh computer. In addition, all of Margaret's novels are written on a Mac. I agree that being a computer-game player and Mac user can be a frustrating experience, which is why I still own a Windows machine even though I prefer the Mac platform. Oh well! As to Towers, please remember as always that until we receive a firm ship-date from the printer, there is no official release date, just an approximation. Thanks! #17cam_banksJun 08, 2004 8:56:35 | Originally posted by jechambers This is why I own a Playstation 2. And I don't even have the time to play on that as often as I'd like, so having games on my Mac would be a real waste of money. Cheers, Cam |
#18silvanthalasJun 08, 2004 9:13:12 | Originally posted by TheRedRobedWizard Acrobat is also one of the slowest programs to load on every computer I've ever attempted to use it on. |

#22zombiegleemaxJun 08, 2004 10:48:52 | Originally posted by Cam Banks Probably not(Due to a wife, college, work, etc.). Just a bit more loose cash when I hit the gaming store. Then again if you have kids I probably do have more time than you and peace of mind. :D ~~~ |
#23silvanthalasJun 08, 2004 13:36:26 | Originally posted by LordofIllusions Why own an XBox when you likely have a computer already? Note: the reason I don't own an XBox is that the # of games for it that I feel are worth playing are very limited, and almost all of them are also available on other consoles or PC. |
#24rpgpatJun 08, 2004 16:59:25 | Away with you mediocre gamer ! I own PS 1, PS 2, and XBox! J/K, But I just could not decide between Xbox and PS 2. Only consoles? no gamecube? |
#25zombiegleemaxJun 08, 2004 19:04:46 | So the book hasn't been released yet? Oh well I guess Ill have to wait a bit longer for that one. |
#26brimstoneJun 09, 2004 9:51:49 | Originally posted by RPGPat Gamecube rocks! If only more companies would make games for it...personally, I think it is the best system...but I've got them all (except X-box...but I play it on occasion). Damnit do we need a Dragonlance console game. |

#28green_cloaked_sorcererJun 09, 2004 11:39:26 | I love how this went from a thread bout Towers of High Sorcerery to talking bout our gaming systems, speaking of which I got a NES SNES Playstaition 1 Xbox N64 gamboy somewhere, and my parents have my Atari, plus i got my comp. If you don't believe ask TRRW. As for too much free time, sure I guess i do, i just have a good job, decent pay strange hours, and i hardly work. Great for having time to come up with adventures and such. Trying to write a fantasy novel too, hoping to rival DL somtime, but i doubt that will ever happen. Anyways I dislike Macs too, bad experiance with them in HS crappy computers from the early 80s *shivers* Word, GCS |
#29lugnut71Jun 09, 2004 13:37:15 | Ha I have just about every gaming system ever made. (Actually I don't I just have access to them all). Yet I really only play the PS2 although I use it to play PS1 games a lot. Of course I would like to play more games but I am also super busy with work and running errands for school. Suppose I better stay on topic. I'm looking foward to this book. I can always use more wizard stuff. |
#30zombiegleemaxJun 09, 2004 13:42:54 | although I use it to play PS1 games a lot. Your not alone. I just finished Dino Crisis(The old PS 1 game.) this morning. ~~~ |
#31silvanthalasJun 09, 2004 14:18:56 | Originally posted by lugnut71 I've been playing a few again lately. Instead of digging out my PS1, or using my PS2, I've been using an emulator on my PC called ePSXe. Once you get the plugin situation down, etc, it usually runs rather well; you need a high end machine though. |
#32zombiegleemaxJun 09, 2004 14:22:15 | I think that Sony made a good move when they enabled the PS 2 to play PS 1 games as well. You feel as if your not throwing money away. Question, why are we(Myself included.) talking about video games on the DragonLance boards ? ~~~ |
