#1wdarkkJun 07, 2004 16:12:52 | I'm planning on making a kenelf character for a DL game this summer. She'll be a Wizard and probably a red robe (and share my belief that Neutrality got the most competent of the deities). I plan on giving her a natural sarcasm and general lack of respect (for stuff that isn't magic and people that aren't casters) that she learned from her Afflicted mother. She probably won't handle much - although she may well handle scrolls and such. For a brief physical description, she'll probably be taller and thinner than the average Kender with blonde hair. Stats will be as True Kender (She'll be quarter-elven, not half). Any advice, beyond this? That url is where I got most of the info I've used so far. |

Besides, a kender looks like a child and thinks sort of like a child... do you really think it's a good idea to introduce this into a campaign? I mean, really, even the BoVD doesn't cover that kind of territory.; |
#4wdarkkJun 09, 2004 20:04:58 | Actually, two spells were involved in mine. Enlarge Person and Permanency. A White Robe tried to prevent the Kender from stealing from him anymore by making her too big. Then people started to mistake her for a half-elf. Including a very lonely Dark Elf. |
#5zombiegleemaxJun 09, 2004 20:07:00 | Naw, they just need to ste the mood. A barrel of ale, the dulcet musical stylings of Theros Ironfeld as accompanied by Elistan.... What more would any Kender need? |
#6zombiegleemaxJun 10, 2004 17:08:10 | hey, it can not happen! |
#7wdarkkJun 10, 2004 22:32:26 | Be nice to hear Kipper's opinion on RPing something like this. I did use his Kencyclopedia to justify it. |
#8theblackrobedarchmageJun 13, 2004 19:25:54 | Honestly, I think the idea of a kender/elf is a bit far fetched... What would possibly have, aside from desperation, deluded any decent elf-male into making love with a kender... even the story of the enlarge person/permanency idea doesn't seem plausible. Elves aren't given much to evil, and your kender would probably be afflicted if it should even be alive at all. Well, that's my two cents. Prepare to die. |
#9zombiegleemaxJun 17, 2004 15:15:34 | It can be argued that Kender are already part elven. It is thought in some circles that Kender were elves that were transformed by the Greygem, not gnomes. This is because kender share many qualities in common with elves. They both have pointed ears, both tend toward hedonistic pursuits, and it was stated that Balif, a contemporary of Silvanos, at different times has been called a kender or an elf. Personally, I think he was an elf that was at Gargath's tower when the Greygem changed the Races, and he became one of the first kender. I agree with this line of reasoning as Kender do not share many traits in common with gnomes, or dwarves. |
#10karui_kageJun 17, 2004 18:14:42 | Well, if you're referring to the common circles in the world itself, yeah, that's understandable. But Out of Game, the books themselves and the DLCS confirm that they are from gnomes originally, which are in turn from humans. Just my 2 CP. |
