Could someone give me a list of the city states that "no longer exist". I can't seem to find where I saw that information (one of them was in Black Flames).
Thanx

It was Yuramke (sp?). It was ruled by Sorcerer Queen who ****** Hammanu off. It turn he raised the city-state to the ground making it the ruins that they are today.

Kalidnay would be the other. Ruled by Kalid-Ma before it was wisked away by the mists of Ravenloft.

There's also Gustenial (sp?) which underneath its ruins lies an under ground city ruled by Dregoth The Dread King.

As far as other city states I don't think there are any others.

There are old ruined citys like Bodach and Weaverly but I don't think they were "city-states" like the ones of the current era which/were ruled by SK.

Hello Matt/Bofdar! And welcome to the DS community.

Some of the modern ruins were city-states while others are from more ancient times, actual cities from an epoch whose cities weren't states.

Here's a quick list of ruins:
Yaramuke, home to sorcerer-queen Sielba, Destroyer of Pterrans
Giustenal, former home of Dregoth, Ravager of Giants, now undead king in the underground city of New Giustenal
Bodach, place of birth of Wyan, Pixie Blight
Arkhold, mmm...can't remember anything about it
Waverly, place of birth or former domain of Abalch-Re, Orc Plague, when she was known as Uyness
Yorum (no known location), place of birth or probable former domain of Myron, Troll Scorcher
Arala, (no known location), place of birth or probable former domain of Sacha, Curse of the Kobolds
Kalidnay, home to sorcerer-king Kalid-Ma, Tari Killer, before he turned mad in his bid for accelerated dragonhood and was killed by his peers
Island of Shault (no known name of ruins), there is an ancient elven city there
Othand, city upon which the Black Sand Raiders camp is built
Kemalok, ancestral home of dwarven kings situated under Kled village
Ebe (no known location), place of birth or probable former domain of Borys, Butcher of Dwarves
Tarelon, described in the Terrors of the Dead Lands accessory from athas.org, under the entry for the Meorty
City of 1000 Dead, in the Obsidian Plains
Celik, former jewel of the Green Age, no other information
Yithri, metropolis capital of the Tari race

Other locations exist, like Magehome, but with zero information released on them, we can't ascertain if they were cities or not.

Don't forget Ur Draxa, former domain of Borys, the Dragon.

Ebe is the citadel in the Crimson Legion. I believe this is true, but it took me about 5 reads to finally pick up on it.

Of course, the official timeline disagrees with this, claiming that Ebe went under the silt or something.

Boo! Oh well, another inconsistency from not checking existing material.

Of course, we can't forget Godshome, the former Vatican City of Athas. During the Green Age, those poor deluded Athasians brought the idols of their false gods to Godshome, and made the city into a "holy" city.

(And before any newbies to the board ask: No, Athas, does not have any gods, nor has it ever. The people of the long-gone Green Age were simply delusional. They prayed to the elements, got cleric spells, and mistakenly assumed it was a god or gods granting them these spells. The elementals never bothered to rectify this mistake...)

--I'd personally love to see a Godshome e-sourcebook NB

That sounds like an awesome starting location for adventures. I don't know why I'm saying that, it just does. A thriving bandit camp situated on top of ancient ruins (ie: a big, fricking dungeon).

Ebe (no known location), place of birth or probable former domain of Borys, Butcher of Dwarves

There's a 'Net supplement that details the Silt Archipelago and gives it as the location of Ebe (or rather, former location, as it has sunk beneath the silt). Actually, the whole supplement is rather cool. It really expands the detail of Athas in good ways, without getting too weird (ex: Last Sea) or staying too close to established material (ie: a lot of net stuff seems like "the Tyr-region, with name changes!").

Other locations exist, like Magehome, but with zero information released on them, we can't ascertain if they were cities or not.

Magehome...sounds like the probable site of Rajaat's academy of magic during the Green Age!

I checked to include Godshold in the list of ruin cities, but the descriptions say there is a temple there, no mention of a city or supporting infrasctructure, like in some egyptian religious cities.

Cool! Never thought of that. I always saw the academy as a lame shack at the foot of the Pristine Tower that got razed when Rajaat closed shop at the beginning of the wars.

I think the Black Sand Raiders are led by a high level EVIL! Defiler who worships/is enslaved to something in the ruins. He tests new raiders by taking them underground, and they become evil as a result. Its in one of the books, ill have to have a look and post again.

Slave Tribes has the main description of their base near Silver Spring. Dragon's Crown has full maps of the encampent, NPC info and details the dungeon beneath the camp. I have this list... :D.

...and the name of the ruined city they're sitting on.
I really like Fevil, Zeburon and Er-Thork and will convert them to 3.5/XPH...when I'll eventually figure out what I want to do with the secrets of the place: why so many undead, the extended catatombs, the evil god's worship and its link to the raaig, plus the Fevil/Er-Thork connection.
The Psionatrix scroll is found in the ruined city, dating the city to the green age when Godshold was influent: spin-off evil cult cast out by the Great Pantheon? Er-Thork and Fevil as upholders of god-worshiping even to this day? Recent connections to Dregoth, or long-standing one with the powers of the Obsidian Plains?

While we're on the subject of ruins, is there any info on Blue Shrine, West of Durg's Puddle oasis?
