#1zombiegleemaxJun 17, 2004 20:41:59 | Been a while since I posted so I thought I would bring you up to date: DLA rolls along. We have a BioWare Wednesday profile in a few weeks on DLA specifically (they have actually never done one on us before) with new screenies and a series of downloadable goodies on www.nwvault.com (non-DL specific) planned for late July. And oh yes, we had a moment to finish the male elven chain so that is in QA right now. We also have a major website reorganization in July and we are unveiling a "sub-project" of ours on its own website with separate design and gallery pages. Think "Land of the Everliving" in Celtic and you might hazard a guess as to what's in store for that Mini XPs website and what the tileset guys have been doing for the past six months. We've finished all the new Satyrs this week - they look very nice. Hmm, what else.... Our skinmesh cloaks are complete and are in QA testing. No knock on Heed's attempts, but he is one guy - and there are 34 of us so the modeling, texturing and animations resources at DLA are slightly more involved. We have our cloaks working simultaneously with our new skirts, tabards and robes so it is a higly flexible design. We expect the community will be quite pleased. The skirts and tabards, especially, are really cool with all their own new animations too. We've been going PC animation crazy the past few months. We even have some specific "romance" anims for Goldmoon and Riverwind in store (no - not new sex anims). We added the hoopak in as a range weapon with its own new use animation as well (we based the throw animation off of a motion captured "power shot" in lacrosse. Looks REALLY nice. Works exactly as it should and remains simultaneously a melee weaon. Raganarok and Astorax should be commended on getting that one working well and looking suhweet. In the not-very-DLish-but-still- neat department, we have mutiplayer Poker working in game now. We have some vague plans to introduce a Talis card version of it for DL specific use, but.."we'll see". We have the Verminaard model and texture now complete and we'll unveil that in a few weeks. Looking *very* nice - you will be pleased. Hederick and Locar (he's a DLA1 "villain" that originally appeared in DL3. He has a much more important role in DLA1) are in texturing. Snake models are complete and sound effects are done as well. VERY nice. Cobra and rattlers both. Ignore the sample on our gallery - that was trashed long ago (as were most of the creatures and PCs and NPCs, Soth and Goldmoon excepted). What else...oh yes....we have two new 2d artists who have joined up over the past few months. They are cranking out portraits and line art to be colored for same. Here is the uncolored version of Gilthanas I have decided to go with. It's a decidedly more "hunky" version of the Elven Prince, but Lisa has been complaining about the lack of good looking characters (and no, you don't get a "vote" on whether we use it ir not ) That should do for now! |
#2zombiegleemaxJun 21, 2004 4:23:02 | Hmmm... might this side project have any connection with Martin's Tir Na n'Og project? The one setting I would say I might prefer to Dragonlance would be something celtic in flavor, and those are by far the most beautiful tilesets I've ever seen. |
