#1prophet_of_chaosJun 20, 2004 1:00:00 | I'm starting a new 1st lvl campaign and I was thinking of having them transported to Sigil early on in the campaign. What adv do you think provides the best intro into PS? |

They only observe hooded figures comming in and out of a door that appears to go nowhere. They are hauling bodies. This is actually a good service that the dustmen do, hauling bodies of those wealthy enough who died in Sigil to prime material grave sites. Tho, to a pc who doesn't know this, it looks very evil. Slightly encourage the pcs to investigate. Don't even bother with a battle unless you want to. This lead to two outcomes: The dustmen would probably rather explain what they do then fight the pcs. Have the Dustmen show them what they do, they would see these clueless as raw meat for increasing their faction's numbers. Eventually they will end up in the dustmen's headquaters. Then they won't be offered a way back unless they join up, or they can always find another way home(that's the goal). If the Pcs kill the dustmen tho, they're probably gonna check that portal, just make it one way back to Sigil and make the key to get back membership in the faction. Don't tell the pcs this. This is assuming they are clueless primes. If not, go with a mcguffin that transports them to the hive ward, but doesn't transport them back. Have them land individually in the same huge pot of soup in a soup kitchen. Their goal should be leaving the hive ward as a team if they don't know each other. If they know each other's character's already, they should stay for some soup. If you mean official adventures, i have yet to see any planescape adventures that cover this (but then again, i didn't read the adventures because we may play them one day). |

Imagine their clueless faces (presuming they ARE clueless) as a horde of clockwork geometric figures come pouring out of a portal to their prime world. Of course, I AM a tad partial to modrons....:D |

A chance for very low level PCs to be banished from the prime to Sigil (the heart of it all) through a short "side trip" through Baator. Bring lots of sunscreen and watch out for the leeches in the River of Blood. "Tales from the Infinate Staircase" and "The Great Modron March" also have low level adventures in them. -Eric Gorman |
