#1zombiegleemaxJun 27, 2004 0:23:36 | I was looking at the 0.9 version of the Terrors of Athas document, and looking at the list of monsters by type, this is what's listed for undead: Undead: Badna Zombie, Defiled. Where's the dwarven banshee, dune runner, kaisharga, raaig, and all the other Dark Sun undead? Was the athas.org team unable to touch those creatures for some reason? |
#2xlorepdarkhelm_dupJun 27, 2004 0:29:18 | Download the file "Terrors of the Deadlands." In it, you will find more Athasian Undead than you can shake a stick at. Including all your favorites and a slew of new ones. |
#3jon_oracle_of_athasJun 27, 2004 14:39:15 | Undead: Badna Zombie, Defiled. Heh, that one will actually not be in the v. 1.0 release. |

#5KamelionJun 27, 2004 16:49:30 | Badna zombie - it's specific to Dregoth Ascending so is being saved for release with that product (Actually, that's just the official cover-up story. The truth is that the badna zombie is being airbrushed out of existence as it might be misconstrued as evidence that the aforementioned adventure actually exists. Which, of course, as we all know it does not. It is just a cruel trick cooked up by boards veterans to stir up the discussions hereabouts from time to time and ease their ennui. Really. You can trust me. It's true.) |
#6SysaneJun 27, 2004 17:04:24 | Badna zombie - it's specific to Dregoth Ascending so is being saved for release with that product So you can expect stats for it to be released around 2010. |
#7jon_oracle_of_athasJun 28, 2004 2:57:09 | Optimist. 2020! |
#8SysaneJun 28, 2004 9:34:55 | Optimist. 2020! Arrrrrrrggghhh!!!!!! :headexplo |

#11nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 15:23:15 | Originally posted by Sysane I've mentioned that several times to no avail. It will probably be breaking our agreement with WotC unfortunately. |
#12SysaneJun 28, 2004 15:27:15 | It will probably be breaking our agreement with WotC unfortunately. Is that the lets-tourture-the-diehard-DS-fan agreement? |
#13dawnstealerJun 28, 2004 15:27:24 | I've already made my own version. Even so, I'd like to see what the TSR boys (and the Athas.org conversion team) have done. If I whine and pout a lot, will you release it early? |
#14SysaneJun 28, 2004 15:41:51 | I've already made my own version. Even so, I'd like to see what the TSR boys (and the Athas.org conversion team) have done. Same here. I've already ran it, but nothing that a Dallas dream sequence can't undone if the original DA is better |
#15nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 15:51:14 | DA is worth the wait, trust me... |
#16SysaneJun 28, 2004 15:54:38 | DA is worth the wait, trust me... Thats a bold statment since we've been waiting for almost 10 years as it is. |
#17nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 16:04:44 | You can believe me or not, I could care less, I got my copy, heh. |
#18SysaneJun 28, 2004 16:12:15 | You can believe me or not, I could care less, I got my copy, heh. Nice. I'd love to believe ya, but I'm not part the ultra elite orginaztion that is athas.org. So I settling for personal yet limited opinions on DA just doesn't cut it in mine or many others books. Sorry  |
#19SysaneJun 28, 2004 16:15:21 | And I don't mean limited opinion to be insulting. By limited I meant tight lipped. Just don't want that misconstrued. |
#20elonarcJun 28, 2004 16:30:55 | You seem to have observed some "discussions" here lately, have you? :P |
#21nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 16:32:59 | Originally posted by Sysane Eh, just tired of the complaining. Doing the best we can, we have lives too. Some more than others... |
#22SysaneJun 28, 2004 16:33:16 | Darn straight. Don't want to be flamed for a misunderstanding |
#23KamelionJun 28, 2004 16:46:05 | Look, it doesn't exist, I tell you! It was swamp gas!! |
#24SysaneJun 28, 2004 16:50:53 | Eh, just tired of the complaining. Not so much complaining as eager to have a clue whats in DA. You have your copy as you stated. So you really wouldn't understand. Be it athas.org, wizards, or the pope. Someone needs to get this out to the DS masses by any and all means. If you want lable me a whinny biznitch go ahead. If it gets me and the DS fan base (more importantly me!) DA a bit quicker then it was worth it. Believe me if there was a more constructive way that I could help DA get out to the community I'm open to suggestions. I'm all ears. |
#25SysaneJun 28, 2004 17:09:56 | And yet again. Not to be misconstrued as me attacking anyone. Just want DA made available sooner than later thats all ;) |
#26nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 17:21:43 | Originally posted by Sysane Actually I very much do understand... I've given many hints on what is going on in that accessory, try searching around for some. Have also tried, on numerous occasions, to get Gab or someone else to talk to WotC about releasing to the masses for the time being till we can get it converted. Haven't heard anything on that since, so I assume I am being ignored, athas.org is being ignored in general, or it's still being looked at or something. Unfortunately that's all we can do. At this point you're just going to have to be patient. At least there is an Epic bureau now to handle the epic side of things, that's a start. |
#27zombiegleemaxJun 28, 2004 22:45:01 | This may be breaking some of that agreement with WOTC, but here's the plot synopsis of the Dergoth Ascending unpublished adventure: (major spoilers below, you have been warned) The Day of Light is at hand. Dergoth gathers together his armies of dray whose numbers are legion. They begin their march on Raam, armed to the teeth for war. The poor huddled masses of Raam put down their internal civil war for a moment, seeing the skies darken with the dust clouds of the marching forces on the horizon. Just when things could not get any worse, Dergoth has a change of heart. Instead of sacking Raam, they all have a big cook-out, with the Imperial Kreen marching over the Forest Ridge bringing the bratwurst. Rajaat is given a brief reprieve from his imprisonment to join in, since no one on Athas but the First Sorceror knows the ancient and arcane secret to making perfect flame roasted marshmallows. The other SKs, not to be outdone, bring their own party favors, booze (Balican wine, aged 1,600 years . . . good stuff), and a variety of pinatas. Rikus, Sadira, and those who remained of the Pentad Heroes were all promptly eaten by some of the attending halflings. And there was much rejoicing. Athas returns to the verdant days of the Green Age and everyone lived happily ever after. The End. (what? you were expecting something else?) |
#28dawnstealerJun 28, 2004 22:50:18 | Mach, if I ever meet you in person, I'm going to have to kick you in the junk. It will be nothing personal, and I'll tell the police I did it out of love, but there must be a junk-kicking. |

It will be nothing personal, and I'll tell the police I did it out of love, but there must be a junk-kicking. Oh, don't worry. I won't take it personal. I've probably racked up quite a few junk kickings in the past four years or so on these boards. I'll just remember that if I ever go to any conventions in your vicinity to change my name and wear a nifty disguise . . I should to that anyhow, you never know when your going to get a boot to the junk for something you said. |
#31zombiegleemaxJun 28, 2004 23:45:39 | Besides, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about anyhow. You already have the adventure in front of you, even if you never realised it. Now, I don't know the specifics, but I can pretty much guess from the title and the background facts about Dergoth about 80% or more of what the adventure is going to be like. So much so that I've run the adventure twice now and be very surprised if my own version are all that different from the eventual release from Athas.org. |
#32nytcrawlrJun 28, 2004 23:56:31 | You'd be surprised actually. I was. This adventure is another major face changer of Athas if the PCs don't act quickly and the DM allows it to run the way it's suppose to. Actually, major is being nice, more like fudged up, but I like the changes that were made. :D |
#33elonarcJun 29, 2004 0:46:16 | Rikus, Sadira, and those who remained of the Pentad Heroes were all promptly eaten by some of the attending halflings. I would love the adventure if that would actually happen to those suckers... |
