Cleric 1: "We should name it after our god, Sirrion." Cleric 2: "Sounds like a plan, Bob." Same thing with the Gates of Paladine, and any other landmark named after a diety. It's named that way because it is. Kinda like Jessica Simpson or Zha Zha Gabor. They're famous for being famous. -TRRW |

During the time when Ergoth and Tarisis were fighting the Tarsian navy amassed an enormous fleet which fought the ergothian navy in this sea. The battle lasted so long and an ungodly amount of ships were destroyed that the fires of the burning ships were strecthed out over so much ocean that the fires could be seen from Tarsis and Daltigoth at the same time and were so hot that no ship could enter the area to rescue the stranded sailors that were dying from the massive heat and flame. The Commanders of both fleets wished that they had a cleric of Sirrion so that the fires could be put out and the sailors could be rescued. When the commanders returned to they respective countries they reported that they had seen the flame of Sirrion in all its destructive manner and resigned their postions. From that day on the ocean that strecthed from Tarsis to the southern border of Ergoth was known as the Sirrion Sea. |

#7darthsylverJun 29, 2004 6:32:39 | No I was thinking Sirrion not Sargonnas. And yes the Flame of Sirrion is supposed to create, but like all flame it can destroy and the commanders simply thought of Sirrion whenever they think of flame. But hey it was just supposed to be a fun explaination. Hence the "Not Official" disclamer at the beginning. |
