#1zombiegleemaxJul 04, 2004 1:52:38 | I am in need of some knowledgeable soul's help. I am currently running KoD for a group of six players. Unfortunatly the party's cleric has changed his mind and wishes to play a Bard. Knowing my party they will more than likely need a cleric. Would it be fitting to have a Apostle of Peace in DL? My idea for the character would be an Irda cleric until he can become a Apostle of Peace. He would take the form of a middle aged human male who tell's other's he saw his family savagly murdered and has forsworn to ever commit a similar act. Therefor he will not even draw a weapon in self defense. When in reality he is just a Irda who has seen too many atrocities (sp?) in his long life. Thanks in advance. |

Although you might have to scale the combats down a bit, having 6 players should more than make up for it. Also be sure to keep NPC clerics/mystics rare with this style of game - when the players take damage, it means something, and they need bed rest for a few days. |

They'll buy potions to compensate. Failing that, someone will pick up a level of cleric or mystic along the way to fascilitate healing. Or, Rogue with lots of UMD and a wand of CLW. Win. -TRRW |

One of the PCs was a favored soul of Habbakuk, but he used the druid spell list to choose his spells rather than the cleric one, so a number of cleric-specific spells were absent. In the past couple of months, a friend of ours who was on a dig site in Athens returned to the USA and has joined the group, and he's playing a cleric of Majere with a mad-on for undead, but we've done fairly well up until now with only basic healing magic. I recommend handing out potions, too, since they represent a wise investment and are always useful. Potions of lesser restoration are also a good idea. Otherwise, see what you can do about convincing somebody to see the light and multiclass into cleric or mystic, if you're REALLY keen on the idea. With a party of smaller size I would usually recommend something like the healer class, from the Miniatures Handbook (yes, I am a big fan of that supplement, or half of it at least) which is specifically designed to cater to this role. With 3 clerics, a lv 2, a lv 4 and a lv 5, its an heavy bashing game =) |
