The FR "Dark Elf" TV series was eventually sacked, so I presume the longshot hope for a DS thingy went down in flames along with it.

That article just looked like a sop to all the "dead worlds fans" - sure a dark sun cartoon whatever, now shut up and leave us alone.

Actually, the article was from around the time that WOTC first bought up TSR (well, shortly after). WOTC innitially was going to keep the basic settings going (FR, DL, PS, DS, BR), but then some market researcher killed all that. From what I gathered, most of the projects listed there were well into the planning stages before being cut, though none had actually begun production.

That's pretty old news.

It went from a cartoon, that got shut down, to a movie, and currently that is still a future plan at least.

All I can say at this point.
