Jul 17, 2004 0:32:46 Do sudden metamagic feats have their place in DS? The Arch Defiler PrC already has a class ability that does something similar...

Jul 17, 2004 13:23:24 I'd say, yes they do. I've definitely gotten to the frame of mind that metamagic on the fly shouldn't be connected to being the advantage of Defilers, or Arch-Defilers. Mechanics wise, it just doesn't feel right. Not sure about what to give Arch-Defilers in place of it tho.

Jul 18, 2004 17:53:04 An option is giving the Arch Defiler 'Improved Metamagic' as per the epic feat. Originally, I had the Arch Defiler more powerful, modelled after the Incantatrix - arguably the most broken mage prestige class in history. The Incantatrix has both casting time metamagic and improved metamagic. I'm sticking with my modified version of casting time metamagic for the Arch Defiler.
