#1zombiegleemaxJul 17, 2004 2:02:06 | well this has been an interesting campaign so far.. i started out with a couple of very interesting characters one was a aspiring knight of the thorn (an idea from the Sylvan Key adventure; and not one that i recommend for that matter...) and a centaur (i had to write up a racial class for that as the one in the Savage Species doesnt work for DL centaurs). This all made the first part off the game interesting, they went hunting for Pegrin's Head to get the Thorn night a sponser, were the first to draw weapons in all of the "unarmed brawls" in the first chapter. and even turned in Jakob the Peasent to the dark knights... When they got thrown in jail they met up with the rest of the party (one of which wanted to be a minotaur...) they managed to take a straight line to the leper colony once in the sewers and some how manage to not get any treasure at all.... because of the presence of the minotaur in the party the were pretty much straight kicked out of the colony after meeting with the main NPC there (her name escapes me at the moment...) the journey across the desert was unfortunatly far to easy for them as the druid summoned a camel to use as the pack mule for their stuff so they could travel lightly and swiftly across the desert and the mystic's domain was travel so he casted create water more often then they even needed to... They made it to the the caravan with little to no trouble and made good friends with the leader of the Mikku (did i mention that im not good with names??) by the time their stay here was done that had hit every possible prophet in the adventure and were absolutly afraid every NPC they were gonna meet was gonna be a prophet.. poor fools ^^ but anyways on to the player killing... They got to the area with the mountain lions i figured well i have seven players and there is supposed to be 3-4 so i should double the amount of monsters... well bad idea... had i not fudged the rolls abit i would have killed them all.... as is i only killed the minotaur.... which is ok because he started to not like that char anyways... which is my fault but i'lll leave that for another posting.. the minotaur came back as a human fighter who wants to be a kensai with the purpose of slaying chromatic dragons... so that'll be interesting when he gets the Dragonlance... (i figure ill give him a bonus to knowing what it is) inside the vally the characters decided to go straight for the temple... yet again bypassing anychances for loot... (there are many a night when im am rather sad that such a beautiful camaign is being so horribly ruined as no matter what i seem to try i cant make these players see the clues before them or try to roleplay anything out) but anyways.... inside the tower they managed to pry a bar of cold out of a refridgeration room i dont know what they plan on doing with it though... they wraped it in rope till it was insulated enough for them to carry it around.... its amazing the sh*t my players come up with.... finnally last week they came across the stone gaurdians in the temple (and somebody else please tell me that they think hardness 8 and fast healing of 5 is far to much for a CR 4 monster!!) but they managed to kill the centaur and the red robe wizard of the party... everyone else managed to make a tactical retreat back up the stars before the everyone was dead (although most had to be dragged up the stairs....) the red robe wants to come back as a kender and the centaur as some kind of cleric (as the mystic left the campaign and they are now without a healer) the kender talked me in letting him come with five horses, something about carring all of his findings out of the temple, but i know he really just wants to come with horses for the group... which i dont want because itll make the game to fast but oh well i figure i can make them get discovered later as being stolen and test his kender roleplaying abilities.... but thats just a breif overview of my campaign so far... ill add more as it happens, if anyone has any thoughts please do share!! |
#2raistlinroxJul 17, 2004 2:31:43 | Sounds like an interesting group. My player wanted to play an evil character so I let him, then changed that char to a campaign of my own devising and made up good chars for KoD. Otherwise he would have been in it deep with the evil party. |
