#3havardJul 17, 2004 16:30:46 | Originally posted by Spellweaver Interesting question Jesper, especially since I have been working on some 3e conversions for the HW to be posted later. Joe has a point that Sorcery fits better in more primal cultures than Wizards. Wizardly magic is after all usually connected with bookish lore. However, what I ruled in my HW conversions so far is that noone can have the Sorcerer, Wizard, Druid or Cleric classes as Favored class in the Hollow World. My thought is that that will replace the OD&D rule that spellcasters needed 16 in their primary abilily score to have that class. The Favored class restriction seemed to fit better with the 3e logic, IMO. However, the question of which races would have sorcerers among their ranks remain. Going with Joes idea, I think Sorcerer should be the default Arcane class in the Hollow World. So it would be easier to list those cultures where the Wizard would be more common. I'd say the following: Nithians: Wizard Milenians: Wizard Hutaakans: Wizard Elves: (Icewale, Gentle Folk, shattenalfen and Blacklore): Wizard Merry Pirates: Hmmm...these could go either way. I dont think they would have too many spell casters in the first place... Everyone else: Sorcerer Havard |
