#1industrygothicaJul 21, 2004 12:19:38 | I'll be starting a new campaign soon. I have recently acquired a copy of the AD&D House of Strahd module and have started converting it to 3e/3.5. After a little tweaking, it looks like I may be able to send my players into Castle Ravenloft at about 7th level. My question is this: Should I use Strahd as the CR24 encounter that he is listed at in the current Gazetteers and Secrets of the Dread Realms, or should I rework him to a slightly lower challenge rating? This particular module has him as a 16th level necromancer, while the original print lists him as 10th level. Also, if there are any other suggestions you could give me for running this, or any other adventure, or any conversion tips, they would be greatly appreciated. |

Only problem I see with the whole thing... where's the end?! I was all ready to see what happened on the 3rd level and then poof! gone. What's up with that?! Thanks for the read, though. I think it'll help when I'm ready to run it. Gotta make a quick trip through the Temple of Elemental Evil first, though. I know there's more I want to ask about this module, but I'll be damned if I can think of it now. I would be interested in seeing some 3e workups of the characters/monsters though, just to see how mine stack up. |

I'm combining various elements of the first and second prints in an attempt to somewhat balance the EL throughout the module. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon. |

A friend got me a used copy of the Silver Anniversary module at a gaming store in Springfield, MO, for $2.99 this past weekend. |
#8zombiegleemaxAug 03, 2004 14:27:36 | Hi, there's an on line version of the House of Sthrad adventure for download? Or can someone send me by e-mail the basic archives. I want to play this marvelous adventure, but I never found this material here in Brazil! Thanks if you can help me! Luke |

I'll get on that right away, hopefully I can wrap it by the weekend. Suffice to say - the adventure ended with the players right where Strahd wanted them. But Alexus' player of all people (the one who didn't even really want to play this adventure) came up with a twisted ending that went right along with the canon result. Pretty funky stuff. I'll get right to it. (Thanks for the props, IG) peace, MSD |
