Ok guys, help me out with this, I have a bare skeleton of the WOHS test, but I need some help fleshing it out.

One of my wizards wants to be a white robe, and his 'Master’, the one who trained him, is a White Robe living in Palanthas. As a boy his parent's were notorious thieves, and I plan to use that element to come back to haunt him.

The way I have it planned out is that, when he talks with the Mage of Kirin Tor (Which he is bound to do, he's always seeking Magic Supplies) in Al-Khurman (We're doing a KoD Campaign) the mage will inform him that his master has recalled him to Palanthas, to take his test. (He’s expecting to take his test soon) however, the mage of Kirin Tor will offer to teleport him there. Hopefully he will accept, but if he doesn’t I will slip in the fact that it is VERY urgent that he return.

However, instead of casting a teleport spell, the mage will cast a different spell, one I devised that will slip him into his test, and he won't know it.

He will appear in Palanthas, just as planned, and make his way to his old Master House, along the way he will see a woman getting mugged in an alleyway and, knowing he wants to be a white robe, he will try and help her out. However, as he moves in to help, he will also see a Black Robe yelling at a Young boy carrying a book.

Here he has a Choice, he can help out the woman, who he knows nothing about, and let the Black mage either fry the boy, or let the boy get away (negative Points loyalty to Magic, bonus points on Good), or he can help the Black Robe retrieve he Spell book (Bonus to Loyalty to Magic, Loss of Good Points) however, if he moves to help the Black Robe, he will notice that the Black robe is readying a spell, one that will likely Kill the young boy, he can stop the spell, and probably let the boy get away, or he can not interfere, and let the boy be killed. If he goes to help the woman, as he approaches she will draw a sword on the unarmed thugs, and look ready to butcher them, he can try and talk her out of her murderous actions, can help her, or can help the thugs.

With this situation resolved he can move on to his masters House. Once there he will find the old man flipping though a spellbook. The old man will tell him that his parent's stole a valuable magical artifact long ago and he now wants it back, and is going to dispatch him to retrieve it. However, when he gets near the artifact he will meet the ghosts of his parent's, who will tell him that they are bound to the item he seeks, and should he remove it, they shall be cast into the Abyss. It will be guarded by a powerful Magic Being, a Dragon (albeit a young one), who will give him a choice, fight the Dragon and reclaim the Object, answer a riddle and re-claim the object, or find a way to allow his parents to move on to their next life, and then re-claim the object.

This is where it gets a little fuzzy, as I still have to come up with WHY his parent's are bound to the object, and a difficult enough riddle to make it an unappealing choice. Should he chose to simply fight the dragon, his Roves will almost assuredly be Black, should he answer the Riddle, Most likely Red, and should he help his parents, most likely white.

At the very end of it all, when he returns the object to his master, his master will suddenly begin to cackle with glee, dropping the illusion to reveal a different man, who will inform the PC that he is a Sorcerer, and the PC has just delivered the means for the sorcerer to wreak havoc on the WOHS and the Town itself. A Fight will likely ensue (The foe more powerful than him in Magic) and when he wins (If he dies, well then his Character is done so it doesn’t matter) he will have another choice, to return the artifact to the WOHS, Keep the artifact, or destroy it. Hopefully he will research the artifact, but if not well then he'll never know its power. It's going to be a small ring, made up of many colors, that has the ability to call and Bind a Powerful outsider (A la the lesser Planar Binding Spell) 1/Week. He must still convince the outsider to help, but the Outsider gets no Save against it, cannot use SR to break free, ect. ect. However, the Magic it uses is Wild magic, not Focused magic, and therefore against everything the WOHS stand for.

If he chooses to keep it, then he's probably just failed his test, if he chooses to return it to the WOHS, they will destroy it, and if he destroys it, they will congratulate him on his forethought.

So I have the friend turned enemy (Master), the Greater Magic Challenge (the Dragon OR the sorcerer Or both), and the three challenges solved without master (Within the dungeon where he will retrieve the item, probably just puzzles like any dungeon) He will have to call almost all of his know spells into play in the battles, so I’m wondering if I’m missing anything, and what advice you guys have for me.

I also have ANOTHER wizard to prepare a test for, but that will come later. Then I have knightly trials for a third PC, gahhhhh! I'm gonna go insane!

Dude, it sounds like you don't need any help at all. It's a great Test and very well thought out. As far as a riddle, just go to google and search for riddle and I'm sure you'll find tons of them you could use.

As to why the wizards parents are bound to the artifact perhaps when they stole it they made an attempt to use the device and failed, or it was cursed, or it was magically warded. Then it's magic became attuned to their souls. When they died instead of passing on to the "gret beyond" they were trapped on the material plane unable to free their souls from the artifact.

Other than that I think it's a great test!
