I was looking for some information on water consumption and I couldn't find anything on the Dark Sun 3 book.

Does Half-Giants still need the double daily requirements?

Does Thri-Kreen still need as much water per week as humans need per day?

Thanks

There are rules for thirst and starvation on p 304 of the 3.5 DMG. I'd go with the increased/decreased requirements for races like the half giant or thri kreen - the figures in the DMG would support the former and the kreen water requirements are a fun part of DS flavour.

The original rules book had some good rules:

1 gallon a day for a normal human (includes elves, dwarves, halflings, etc)

1 gallon a week for a kreen

4 gallons a day (I think) for a half-giant.

I'm using the rules from the Original Book, too.

What about Aaraakorcras and Pterrans? They weren't covered in the original book. Should they have the same requirements as the other races? A Pterran's scaly skin should give him a lesser requirement? What about the feathery cover for the aarakocras?

I have my own rules I use for it, which take into account the weather and what you're doing. They are as follows: (pasted from a text file, so I've tossed them in a code block to keep the formatting)
On a cool day:

In A City:
- Staying Inside All Day : 0.50 Gallons
- Moving Throughout The City : 0.75 Gallon

Traveling In The Desert:
- Resting Through The Hottest Part of The Day : 1.25 Gallons
- Traveling Through The Hottest Part Of The Day : 1.25 Gallons

On a normal day:

In A City:
- Staying Inside All Day : 0.50 Gallons
- Moving Throughout The City : 1.00 Gallon

Traveling In The Desert:
- Resting Through The Hottest Part of The Day : 1.5 Gallons
- Traveling Through The Hottest Part Of The Day : 2.0 Gallons

On a Hot day:

In A City:
- Staying Inside All Day : 0.75 Gallons
- Moving Throughout The City : 1.25 Gallons

Traveling In The Desert:
- Resting Through The Hottest Part of The Day : 2.0 Gallons
- Traveling Through The Hottest Part Of The Day : 3.0 Gallons

What's your justification for this? I mean, if anything, Halflings could potentially need a little more - since their natural habitat is, well, a jungle and stuff.

I think since they're half as big as humans, they should need half as much water...
