I'm trying to compile a listing of exotic foods and dishes from around the Great Ring (and beyond!), so that my players can sample fine delicacies instead of gorging on gold coins.

So, to start, here are some delectable comestibles I'll be introducing:

1. Spit-Roasted Howler Hind. Tough meat, but very flavourful. Howls on the spit until it's done.

2. Elysian Fruit. Cool and fruity like ice-cream. The pit is a piece of candy....maybe like the candy in PS: Torment.

3. Chaos-Creature-in-a-Flask. Like a soda, but with a random and infinite number of flavours with every sip. Side effects may vary.

4. Beastlands Burgers. The most delicious meat in the multiverse, but every bite earns you the enmity of the species on the Beastlands. Eat enough of it and they will come to hunt *you* down.

5. Lammasu Cheese. Good, hearty with a strong herbal flavouring. Inspires, awakens and refreshes. Gives demons the runs for a week. Just don't ask how it's collected.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Elysian Sandfruit: The sandfruit is an apple-sized greenish-brown globe, with a thick outer skin and soft interior. The texture and taste could best be described as peach-like, although noticeably more tart. It gets its name from its thick rind, which begins to flake off in a fine grit as it ripens.

IMC, the Lamb and Apple inn, run by halflings Basil and Elena Hornbrook, reputedly has the best sandfruit pie in all Sigil.

Bytopian Pancakes: Two fried grittle cakes, one held above the other by 2-inch tall pinapple cylinders. The whole thing covered with berries and thick syrup.

Xaosurprise: Hollowed (then filled) and skinned Arcadian melon (much larger than regular), soaked for a fortnight in alcohol-fermented caramel and covered in chocolate. When someone begins eating the delicacy, the globular candy in the center of the melon come to life, each of the colored globs begin expanding and contacting, flavors changing from moment to moment. Cutting too much of the melon away allows the candy to expand too much, often causing a big mess. Typically, it's easiest to suck the goop out through a small hole.

Prime-Burger: Served only at Cirily's cafe`. When asked about the delicious burger, she said, and I quote: "It's something of a tripple irony. It's prime in the 'dish orginating from the prime material plane' sense, it's prime in the 'fresh' sense, and it's prime in the 'meat' sense... I mean,.... Uhh... I mean it's a double irony. Heh."

The Spectacular Reverse Limbofish

You're served a delicious sirloin steak with apple-wine sauce, which then proceeds to transmogrify into a delicious Oceanus salmon in a fine dill-cream sauce, which then starts to swim around in the sauce, then does backflips, then finally uncooks itself and floats over to the fish tank to dive back into it's natural habitat. Tastes good the whole way.

Speed and dexterity in eating is recommended. Results may vary. A lot.

Watch out straying too far from normal food. Otherwise your dank Sigil barroom will become Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

Mmmmm...Bytopian-cooked badger steak.

It's very tough meat, and you have to work hard at eating it, but if you put in the effort, it's a very rewarding meal.

Xanxost also reccomends the rare round toadstools of Agathion. Definately a very strong flavor.
Of course, if they aren't prepared correctly, the poison drives one temporarilly insane.

If you wish to eat the mushrooms and steak in the same meal, you can't go wrong with spirespice. Made from grey peppers that only grow within the inner three rings on the Outlands, they can neutralize wildly diverget tastes, making even Abyssal and Arcadian dishes taste good together.

Next time on "Food with Xanxost", it will talk about an original Slaadi dish, Screaming Mephit Stew.

Arborean Potatoes - Come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, best eaten raw. The taste varies bite by bite, ranging from a pleasant mild sweet taste to a deliousious spice flavor.

Bytopian River Roast - A large thick skinned fish native to Bytopian rivers roasted whole over an open flame. The skin is tough, and you have to work to get savory hearty meat inside, but it's well worth the effort.
