#1jericho_apa_dupJul 30, 2004 7:34:44 | I want to play a thri-kreen monk but my DM and I have a few questions and we were hoping someone could answer them. 1. With 2 racial HD and +2 level adj. how much XP do i need to be a first level monk. 2. If I take my first level of monk do all of my four natural attacks do the monks increased unarmed damage (1d6) or does the first attack do that damage and my other 3 attacks do the normal (1d4) damage. |

Once you reached 10000 xp you could take your first monk level. 2. Your four claw attacks continue to do their regular damage as they are natural weapons. The monk's unarmed attacks specifically exclude the use of these, although the monk's unarmed attack does more damage. Confusingly enough, a monk's unarmed attacks are treated as natural weapons, but the reverse is not true. So unfortunately, the monk's unarmed attacks do not stack with a kreen's natural attacks and you can't flurry the natural attacks either. However, you could identify some specific kreen weapons as being monk weapons, allowing these to be used in combination with flurries - if your DM deems this appropriate. Your DM may also want to consider whether or not to allow you to add your secondary bite attack to a flurry or unarmed attack sequence. It shouldn't make a huge difference in the long run but it's something to consider in combo with the monk's other abilities. |
