#1zombiegleemaxJul 31, 2004 11:53:07 | i was looking through CbtSS and saw a quick eferance to captured pcs being turned into dray. i got to thinking, what would the effect be to a character that was indeed transformed into a dray. would the pc go insane, retain all memeries, remain the same except for racial changes, etc. what does everyone think? |

#3zombiegleemaxJul 31, 2004 13:28:26 | is there anywhere in the books that describes the dray transformation process? from what i understood of CbtSS, the dray a a few generations beyond the first batch of 2nd gen dray. i would think that newly transformed dray would either retain their old memoriers or be driven insane by the process. |

#7xlorepdarkhelm_dupJul 31, 2004 17:38:17 | I know that I've worked off my premise that Dregoth developed the Dragon metamorphosis, and used his research notes from that to create the Dray. The Dragon metamorphosis radically changes the brain chemistry of the person undergoing it (causing the Animalistic Rampage period), and the Dray also have their brain chemistry changed, which wipes the slate clean, another part of the ritual he uses reprograms them with a set of memories he selects. |

#9xlorepdarkhelm_dupAug 01, 2004 1:18:51 | Originally posted by The People * Spoiler Alert * . . . . . . . . . . . . Dray is a race (technically, two races) that were developed by the Undead Dragon King Dregoth. He took humans (and other races with Human blood in them, I believe) and twisted them to appear more draconic, and loyal to him. His first attempts didn't go well, and the race known as the "First Generation" Dray are deformed as a result. They also tend to be servants (at the very least) of the fixed and perfected "Second Generation" Dray. They all exist in the unknown city of New Giustenal, deep beneath the ruins of Dregoth's former city-state. Dregoth made the Dray as his own pet race, and they are his "Army of Light" that he plans on releasing upon those who wronged him (the other Sorcerer-Kings) |

Although they resent and hate Dregoth, they still revere him as their god and long for reconciliation. Both species of dray look down upon the other and the 2nd generation will use the 1st as slaves and the like if possible. |
#11zombiegleemaxAug 01, 2004 8:55:34 | i think that the creature retains their old memories, but maybe dregoth buries them so deeply that they "forget" their past. they then go through an indoctrinization process and are taught what there "past" was. therefore never knowing the truth about themselves. but give the right situation and conditions, the dray could discover that they were something else. |
#12SysaneAug 01, 2004 11:09:35 | I don't think the transformation would wipe the character's previous memories. I would think there was a very good chance it may drive them insane though. Form my understanding, the Dray transformation hasn't been preformed in many years. All the Dray that now reside under the ruins of Gustienal (both first and second) were bred and born Dray. |
