#2nytcrawlrAug 11, 2004 14:48:03 | Originally posted by Tha Nomad Not planning on running any games, was at one time, but I decided against that. Just don't have the time to make it worthwhile. Doesn't change the fact that we can talk about our own DS campaigns or whatever till we are blue in the face. :D |
#3zombiegleemaxAug 11, 2004 15:42:40 | I'm going to break my neck to get out there, but I'll make it come hell or high water. |
#4jon_oracle_of_athasAug 11, 2004 16:39:32 | Doesn't change the fact that we can talk about our own DS campaigns or whatever till we are blue in the face. Man, I hate those gaming related stories. "My character bla bla did this. Then character x did wa wa..." |
#5PennarinAug 11, 2004 16:47:06 | What was that Jon? I didn't get it. Somehow just as you mentionned "My character did" then everything kinda blurred for a moment. Can you post again without mentionning what your character did? |
#6nytcrawlrAug 11, 2004 16:49:19 | Originally posted by Tha Nomad I guess I am. Two other peeps talked me into it, heh. :D |
#7zombiegleemaxAug 11, 2004 16:51:00 | Man, I hate those gaming related stories. "My character bla bla did this. Then character x did wa wa..." Me too, but I was hoping more along the lines of "I did this with this concept in my campaign, or, I borrowed this idea from something totally unrelated to DS and incorporated it and it worked out well/blew up in my face." |

And what do you mean you can't find Ohio??? What the heck has our school system become these days? |

#13zombiegleemaxAug 13, 2004 7:33:22 | I was in school five years ago, and nothing good has ever come out of ohio. I mean really texas is the lonestar state. Mississippi, is were most of the afro, american bigotry came from, Louisaina has Neworleans. So thats it... Next your gona tell me that you know what the capital of the U.S. is.... Peace Alabama, is neighbor to miss. Georgia, is a place kinda beyond that Florida... I give up, Point is Ohio is just a puddle |
#14zombiegleemaxAug 13, 2004 10:46:27 | and nothing good has ever come out of ohio. Wow, I'm hurt! Drew Carey Joe Walsh Neil Armstrong Tim Conway The Wright Brothers Martin Sheen (unfortunately) Roy Rogers John Rockerfeller Jim Brown Annie Oakley William McKinley Dean Martin Warren Hardin Benjamin Harrison Rutherford Hayes John Glenn Thomas Edison Phyllis Diller Wes Craven Traci Lords :D William Harrison Bob Hope Samuel Morse Jack Nicklause Jessie Owens' Cy Young Jonathan Winters (another :D, but for entirely different reasons) James Thurber Gloria Strienmen Pete Rose Ulysses S. #18zombiegleemaxAug 13, 2004 21:16:33 | Im just sayin, I think, it is by the great lakes, butim not sure. My brane has gone threw an awful transformation in th elast 5 years, the Army robbed me of most of my booksmarts, and since well now I am gods gift to woman, Im playin. but really what has ohio done recently. See in Missi, my senoter (trent lott) Had to step down as majority leader, after being accused of being a biggot. But drew carey is funny.... |

#20jaanosAug 14, 2004 1:09:48 | Americans.... make me laugh |
#21zombiegleemaxAug 14, 2004 6:43:53 | Actually, the guy lott said should have president in the 40's had very good ideas, everyone just focused on the fact that he was against integration. (Now before I get acused of being a biggot, By everyone I mean todays media, ... I cant justifiey it without a full length paragraph. So anyone else going to Gen Con, Nyt said he is running DarkSun. |
#22nytcrawlrAug 15, 2004 10:45:17 | Originally posted by Tha Nomad Strom Thurmond? The fact that he was against one of the biggest issues going on during that time, then yes I would have to agree with everyone. (Now before I get acused of being a biggot Not a biggot, just probably a typical right winger. ;) Keeping everyone but the elite down. Sorry, can't stand Lott, and if he is against the idea of America so much then maybe he should go find his own island somewhere... |
#23zombiegleemaxAug 15, 2004 14:29:01 | Sorry, can't stand Lott, and if he is against the idea of America so much then maybe he should go find his own island somewhere... You know, that's not a half bad idea. I could see it now, my own little country out in the Pacific. "Welcome to Machland", or even "You are now entering Machtopia." Ahhh, Machland, where Machiavelli's principles were finally instated for the betterment of all by the Superme Tyranical Overlord himself, me. |
#24nytcrawlrAug 15, 2004 14:36:54 | Originally posted by Mach2.5 There's plenty of cheap land in Hawaii, quite a few islands that no one is living on. Plus they tend to leave you along over there. Got a friend that's been living over there for a few years now, we've both debated buying an island, and having our own little society on one with all our friends, etc, hehe. :D |
#25zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 6:57:20 | Nyt, can I buy booze, at walmart up there? we might buy some before we leave tomarrow. |

#29zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 10:47:34 | Hey, geography is not something I need so, I deleted it to maKE mor e room. Any way I found ohio, it is to the east of indiana.... Turns out it wasnt lost, I think well grab beer down here with the gift card, I can also buy liquer at my walmart, hell I get to sell beer and liquar at my gas station.... Gotalove laouisiana law damn I butchered my own states name |
#30zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 12:08:18 | As a long time resident of Findlay Ohio, I must take issue. How can you say that the state first in flight gave nothing to the union!? And as to Mach's list, how can you not give Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Thomas Edison and Martin Sheen smiley faces? Heck, Martin Sheen is my President!!!! And a word in support of Nyt. Lott is a biggot. To tie it into DarkSun, anyone ever base their Tyrian templars after Lott, Thurmond and DeLay? That would be enough to curl the toes of any player I know.... |

#33zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 17:07:15 | Heck, Martin Sheen is my President!!!! No smiley for any of the Sheens. Not now, not ever. They are a social blight that will be delt with in time. And any astronaut (of which Ohio has also lent more brave people to the space program than any other state) does indeed deserve a shuttle smiley, or star smiley. A smiley for Edison though, just isn't enough. There's no little gif facial art that can appropriately sum up this man's contributions to society. We also lay claim to Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, as well as Ed O'Neill, hero of men the world over as Al Bundy (who is even from my own hometown), Ted Turner, and ace WW1 pilot Eddie Rickenbacker. |
#34nytcrawlrAug 18, 2004 19:00:20 | Originally posted by Mach2.5 Speaking of good ol Ted, loved his article on big Media. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0407.turner.html I wonder how the media corps on Athas run (my lame attempt to keep it related to DS, heh). |
#35nytcrawlrAug 18, 2004 22:00:25 | Mach and Penn are officially here! /me plays the fanfare |
#36zombiegleemaxAug 20, 2004 22:26:16 | Nyt, Im here bald, chin hair, white tshirt & blue jeans... I can be found lounging on a couch, up by the second escataltor. Hey I will be there at 1200, and 500 pm today (Sat). PLEASE FIND ME.... P.S. Im board, and that orange chick is hot. |
#37nytcrawlrAug 23, 2004 14:42:50 | Originally posted by Tha Nomad Doh! Was too busy distracted by all the beautiful female geeks! Some other things as well. :D Saw the orange hot chick too, she doesn't surpase the Hawaiian goddess we ran into. etc... |
#38zombiegleemaxAug 23, 2004 15:39:49 | Its cool, I woulda contacted you before we left to go, But I got off of work and onto the road. I got screwed too many times, to say the trip was worth it. I paid 130 to sleep on a floor, that was 50 more then I exspected. Hey but its a nice town |
#39zombiegleemaxAug 23, 2004 17:50:32 | It really was a good time, to everyone who didn't get a chance to make it out there. Me, Nyt, and Penn are going to try and pre-plan a little better for next year. Getting registered was a one minute proccess, unlike last year's ordeal. We're going to try and set up a few DS games for next year as well; at least two, maybe more (don't want to spend the entire con just running games). If you are planning on going next year, its more than worth it to bring a few cameras. Eye candy abounds in quantities that simply baffle the average geek gamer. The three of us managed to find the mini DS box set out there (which I hadn't thought actually existed). Its about 4x4 inches and contains a miniature version of everything that originally came with the box set; maps, flip books, fiction, etc. Very cute little addition to the collection. Never did see the rumored Deadlands book. Bumming though that I didn't pick up the new Paranoia XP book before it sold out. Anyhow, hopefully a few more people will be able to make it out there next year. If so, I'll see you there. |
#40nytcrawlrAug 23, 2004 18:18:27 | Definately very good eye candy this year, more so than last year's. We will definately have to get some DS games going, as well as a Paranoia game going next year. Hope more of you decide to come. :D Probably should pick a meeting place instead of relying on writing your nick and other info on those small badges that most people don't pay attention too. |
#41nytcrawlrAug 23, 2004 18:19:36 | Originally posted by Tha Nomad Glad you liked Indy. I'm starting to really appreciate it here lately. Sorry you got burnt too, that's a bummer. Hopefully you can make it next year and have a better time and we can meet up. |
#42zombiegleemaxAug 24, 2004 11:41:04 | The mini DS boxed set was interesting to see, I didnt know one existed. If I do go next year it wont be with my local buddies, tension, and attitude was flairing by the time we got home (12 hour drive) Also I heard there was an econolodge about 1 and a half miles from the convention center, is this true, cause I figure 10 people in that should be cheap, then I could actually spend money. To the rest of you, if you can get up there, and not get F*c#ed for this or that it might be a good time, and when your down play "are you a werewolf" its fun and chicks play. |
#43KamelionAug 24, 2004 12:23:58 | How much was the mini box going for? It's the one item I really would like for the collection... |
#44zombiegleemaxAug 24, 2004 12:37:53 | There's one going for pretty cheap on eBay right now, don't know if it's the right one though, you can always ask the seller: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44112&item=5916461923&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW |
