#1zombiegleemaxAug 12, 2004 15:03:27 | Now I may have this totally wrong, but from what I can gather the movement rates in the 2E Dark Sun box set for PC races are twice that of the same races in the Player's Handbook (dwarf 6-12, elf 12-24). Is this correct? Do they move twice as fast? My confusion also includes whether these are their 'standard' movement rates (i.e. per round) as well as overland movement rates. If so, why exactly do they move twice as fast as default halflings, dwarves, elves and so on...? I would appreciate any help. Mark |
#2jon_oracle_of_athasAug 12, 2004 15:31:32 | There's been a while since I looked at any 2E rules, but IIRC DS used a movement system where you divide your speed by a terrain modifier. Going on the assumption that everyone is an idiot the DS designers multiplied the speeds by two to make division easier. Or at least that's my theory. Note that this is *if* IRC. |
