#1ividAug 17, 2004 7:02:54 | Although through AoM, LoH and KoD there is a new enthusiasm for Ansalon, I still consider the Taladas - Setting my source for krynn - based campaigns. *I wanted to say this a long time:* THANKS MR JAMES O'RANCE!!! Without you marvellous work on http://come.to/taladas I would have dropped the DL setting long ago! Now, with all this stuff Mr. O'Rance provided us, I always thought of Taladas being one of the greater settings for fan - made campaigns. *I am currently writing one myself* But all across the www I didn't find the slightest trace of Taladas Fanworks! Can anyone help me? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning a lot 'bout dicing here... |

For instance there is a story I wrote, based in Taladas, that has to do with Old Aurim. But because the main focus of the story is on sorcery the title is the First Sorcerous Academy on Krynn. It postulates that Sorcery has been around just as long, if not longer, than High Sorcery. Stating that Sorcerors are the descendants of Scions and they founded the kingdom of Aurim, but it was destroyed during the cataclysm and the magical backlash is what caused the fire lake in the middle of the continent. The nexus does has some cool things for Taladas, you just have to look for them. Maybe if they seperated solely ansalon based stuff from Taladas based stuff people might notice a difference in the volume of stuff for one and the lack of stuff for the other. But this would probably be a major hassle accomplish for the site. |

While it still has a DL'esque feel, it gives you a chance to get away from "cannon" vs "non-cannon" because not a whole lot has been said or done with it. I'm having my party get shipwrecked there sometime some and meet the Marak. I want to see how they react to hostile Kender especially the Kender that I have in the group right now. |
#4SysaneAug 17, 2004 8:43:52 | I can't wait to see some info on how Taladas was effected by the return of Chaos and big T stealing the world. Does anyone have any insight on this? |
#5dragontoothAug 17, 2004 9:00:48 | And can't wait to see some big dumb dragons too. And chaotic silver, and bronze dragons. Wonder if the curse of the Othrodox was removed with Takky, and Paladine gone. |
#6SysaneAug 17, 2004 9:14:20 | Thats a good point. I wonder if any Dragon Over Lords claimed any of the lands there as well. |
#7ividAug 17, 2004 14:24:09 | I think, the information you need can be provided by the free module released by James O'Rance *Time of the Dragon Lords* ----------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your replies!:D :D :D :D |
#8iltharanosAug 17, 2004 14:36:51 | Originally posted by Sysane I'd be happy if the new Taladas novel indicated that there were no dragon Overlords there. Taladas has always been different from Ansalon ... and the presence of Overlords there would just be too similar in my book. Perhaps they faced some new threat in the Age of Mortals ... like . |
#9zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 17:07:00 | Travel.to/taladas is a good site as well |

Yeah like insane killer gnomes with lots of new steam technology, or how about a rampaging bakali army. Hehehehehehehe. Perhaps a bakali figured out how to suck the lifeforce from dragons and s\he became a supreme overlord or something. |
#11zombiegleemaxAug 17, 2004 18:46:38 | more info listed on a thread i started titled "Taladas?" |
#12ividAug 18, 2004 3:58:39 | ...BUT I personally consider the Taladas Overlords far more interesting than the Ansalonian ones - they are not just big evil dragons, but develop in a way I consider fitting for the setting. My personal fav is Savage, the Lord of Old Aurim. Let's turn to the main topic again: Does anyone know where I can get more stuff for my upcoming Taladas campaign? Maps, for example, or notes for T in the age of might? Besides, I am searching informations on the Sea Witch's War, the Grim Winter and the relations between the elves from armach and the ones from silvanost! Any suggestions? |
#13iltharanosAug 18, 2004 11:41:18 | Originally posted by Ivid James' website has maps of Taladas. If you don't already have it, the Otherlands accessory (available for free on Wizards' classics download page) has info. on the Sea Witch's War, among other things. |
#14ividAug 20, 2004 4:38:45 | I am searching information that exceeds what I found in those books... sorry, should have mentioned... Anyway, thank you! ;) But there is not far too much stuff besides that books, is it? |
#15iltharanosAug 20, 2004 9:09:29 | Originally posted by Ivid You're welcome :D Unfortunately, that's about it as far as available info. on the topics you're searching for. |
#16ividAug 21, 2004 14:12:50 | ...Then I'll have to use stuff of my own design... *Walks away, you hear crazy nasty laughter* Thanx ------------------------------------------------------------------- *out for Spain* |
#17talinthasAug 22, 2004 16:38:53 | More stuff on Taladas, you say? How about this tidbit? The taladas trilogy takes place in Modern Day, post War of Souls. chew on that for a bit =) |
