#1zombiegleemaxAug 31, 2004 15:25:26 | At long, long last, I have returned to the literary world of Dragonlance. Not less than an hour ago, I finished reading the War of Souls trilogy, and am now looking to reading assloads of new DL novels. Come this Friday, I shall sally forth to the local mall, raid it's Waldenbooks, and purchase 6 new DL novels (one complete trilogy, hopefully, and three independent, stand-alone novels). The DL novels I have read so far, in the order they "occured" in the game setting, are: *The Dwarven Nations trilogy. *The Legend of Huma. *Kaz the Minotaur. *The Chronicles trilogy. *The Legends trilogy. *The Second Generation. *Dragons of Summer Flame. and finally, *The War of Souls trilogy. So, O wanderers of Krynn, what should I pick up next? What should I really hunt for, and what should I give a pass to? I don't care about the Age(s) the book(s) is/are set in, be they Fifth, Fourth, or even earlier; I just care that they're well-written and fun to read. --I do believe I am falling head over heels in love with Krynn NB |

#5talinthasAug 31, 2004 16:57:26 | haven't stopped us yet. Let Drake and Sith decide what's right for this forum, yes? |
#6hatrelAug 31, 2004 17:26:02 | You could check out This Thread in the DL.Com forums discussing a similar topic. They have a good section dedicated to the Novels of Dragonlance and it does not break any rules *looks around for the WizO's* |
#7zombiegleemaxAug 31, 2004 17:31:36 | The Kingpriest trilogy is very good. You also might want to think about one or more of the many books of short stories out there. Dragons of Chaos is one of my favorites. |
#8zombiegleemaxAug 31, 2004 19:38:51 | I haven't read too many 5th Age books besides the requisite WoS Trilogy, and those I have I didn't really get into. I have heard on here that the Wizard's Conclave stuff was OK, Amber's and Ashes is going to be a must (if available yet), Soulforge was excellent ( I did read this, although it's not a 5th Age book), and the Chaos War stuff was pretty good. That's all I have to say about that. Oh yeah. I forgot Doom Brigade. |

It was very entertaining and humorous, albeit not the best book I've ever read. |

#11iltharanosSep 01, 2004 7:51:05 | Ah; I take this is a 5th Age trilogy detailing the rise of Emperor Hotek de-Droka? Correct. :D There are only two books out so far, both excellent reads though. |
