#1zombiegleemaxSep 02, 2004 22:52:20 | Wasn't sure if the word had gotten over to this board, but I just wanted to reiterate my own excitement that miniatures from the Death Knell miniature expansion packs will be drawn from TOEE! I've posted a speculation post over on the mini boards, but there hasn't really been all that much response. Some people don't even know who Iuz is! For shame. Any speculation over here as to what might make it into the set? |
#2scoti_garbidisSep 03, 2004 0:52:44 | where is this information at? I wouldnt mind reading about this expansion? |
#3HalberkillSep 03, 2004 10:13:13 | where is this information at? I wouldnt mind reading about this expansion? http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndmin/966280000 That is all the information that there is on it, and the only additional iinfo to that is what has been learned from the designers on the minis board and at conventions. There will probably be only 2 minis from ToEE, but it apparently will be from ToEE and not RtToEE. Halber |
#4zombiegleemaxSep 03, 2004 10:23:23 | Sad. I was hoping for at least six. |
#5scoti_garbidisSep 03, 2004 16:31:23 | Bummer it is only 2 but I will look on the bright side... could have been none. I am excited to see them when they come out. I only have Mordenkainen from the GOL but I quit buying after I got a Red Dragon...... i am superstitious and thought my luck had probably run out.... i got Mordy and the Red in 4 tries and when i bought a 5th box... it was all repeats... I have three Cloud Giants..... I will have to find a way to make my players quiver in fear with my three cloud giants but they are only 9th lvl average right now, so gonna be awhile. |
#6zombiegleemaxSep 03, 2004 17:27:53 | I would think that it would be at least six... Even if some of those end up being generic monsters like the Ettin, I'll be happy since I want to use the real monsters instead of proxy ones. |
#7max_writerSep 04, 2004 5:09:37 | Damn you Scoti Garbidis ... foiled again! I'm still looking for Lareth the Beautiful and that elusive red dragon myself. I'd love to see some more Greyhawk specific minis. Got Mordenkainen and the Scarlet Brotherhood agents, as well as King Snurre. |
#8scoti_garbidisSep 04, 2004 7:32:46 | Plenty of both are available on Ebay.... but I myself am waiting for the price to come down a bit... I know both of those are premium mini's but I just cant afford it right now. I was surprised to see that the generic fire giants were actually going for more than King Snurre last i checked. |
#9zombiegleemaxSep 04, 2004 11:45:12 | I have three King Snurres and only one Fire Giant. I might as well use that Fire Giant as King Snurre... |
#10scoti_garbidisSep 04, 2004 13:59:35 | stupid question but do you want to part with a king snurre or two... .i know Max_Writer and I would love to have one. Max just threw a band of Fire Giants at us a few game sessions ago and had to hold back because 3rd ED giants are way more powerful. He might like a king snurre to sneak up on us or maybe i can get revenge sometime because he plays in my game, as i play in his. |
#11zombiegleemaxSep 06, 2004 20:36:45 | The road to a decent minis collection is long and winding. It took me a while but at long last I can finally run GDQ1-7. |
#12zombiegleemaxFeb 01, 2005 2:22:31 | When, oh when will we know what Temple of Elemental Evil minis we will be getting? The anticipation is killing me. My unhealthy obsession with the module is really starting to freak me out. I mean, have you ever continued working on a module AFTER your players completed it? |
#13GreysonFeb 01, 2005 9:56:44 | I'm still looking for Lareth the Beautiful ... Got Mordenkainen and the Scarlet Brotherhood agents ... He he, I have two Lareth the Beautifuls - and I'm not trading. I have four Scarlet Brotherhood Monks and one of the alternatively painted ones. My Mordenkainen has a terrible paint job. Happy collecting. |
#14zombiegleemaxFeb 04, 2005 13:09:07 | Well, the consensus on the minis board is that there will be no more unique figs in Deathknell other than the one announced (the half-orc guy with the chain). If this is true, then I'm wondering what ToEE miniatures we can expect. Being a pessimist, I'm thinking that the minis will be the grell and the burning skeleton from the RtTOEE monsters sections. I hope not! It's great to own some Greyhawk minis, and I'm very grateful to Wizards for making them. I've got some SB monks, Lareth and King Snurre. Mordy has managed to elude me so far. My choice of minis from the two ToEE modules would be: Zuggtmoy (obviously), Thrommel ('nuff said), Hedrack (either in the ceremonial gear from the original or with the tentacle rod in the sequel) and Falrinth (with his quasit familiar). Other cultists and major bad guys might make interesting minis as well. |
#15cwslyclghFeb 04, 2005 13:47:39 | Well, the consensus on the minis board is that there will be no more unique figs in Deathknell actually Mike D. and Rob H. have come right out and said as much. I'm thinking that the minis will be the grell and the burning skeleton from the RtTOEE monsters sections. I think that you are probably correct, although I wouldn;t be surprised if other non-unique monster types that appeared in ToEE and RttToEE appear in this set as well. |
#16zombiegleemaxFeb 05, 2005 2:00:58 | Well that sort of dashed my months long hopes of seeing TOEE goodness. If we aren't getting unique characters from the module, then what are we getting? I mean, sure, Ettins are in the original TOEE, but I wouldn't put in an Ettin and say: Hey, look, TOEE minis! This makes me wonder if we aren't getting a giant frog, as some have speculated in the past. The only other candidates I can think of off the top of my head are a Banshee, a Juggernaut, Grey Ooze, Black Pudding, Violet Fungi, Leucrotta... And that's all I can think of. But even those monsters don't yell "TOEE" to me. So... What? Are we getting generic guys with names like "Water Temple Priest"? Or is it just generic monsters that fit into that module? I can't accept that it would be monsters from Return to the TOEE because the description clearly states "the classic module TOEE." Not that I'd mind minis from that module either. Hell, the more Greyhawk the better. |
#17zombiegleemaxFeb 05, 2005 7:47:15 | actually Mike D. and Rob H. have come right out and said as much. Oh well. That's a bit disappointing. I wonder what ToEE minis we'll get. I'm beginning to think that this upcoming Legends set will be our best chance of some more Greyhawk minis. Maybe we Greyhawkers should post more on the minis board, just to show we're out here. Incidentally, if you are the right fellow, congratulations on your Dragon article! I was flicking through my Dragons last night and noticed your name. |
#18zombiegleemaxFeb 05, 2005 12:20:59 | My unhealthy obsession with the module is really starting to freak me out. I mean, have you ever continued working on a module AFTER your players completed it? I have continued working on an adventure many times. My players will often ask me, "What news of the project?" Happens all the time... |
