#2MortepierreSep 07, 2004 3:00:29 | Feats: Iron Will, Track Skills: Gather Information 5 ranks, Knowledge (the planes) 5 ranks, Sense Motive 5 ranks. Special: must have survived a hostile encounter with a certain monster type. |
#3stoneravenSep 07, 2004 22:32:16 | Feats: Iron Will, Track Is that all?? I had always assumed there was more..like perhaps some kind of monster lore. I don't own any of the D20 Ravenloft books. Thank you for replying, hopefully I can set up my ranger to be a Monster Hunter of some sort. |

Then, you "specialize" and become a Hunter (that's 5 lvl in "another" PrC). The gist of it is that you can't be directly a, say, Vampire Hunter. You have to be a Monster Hunter first and then specialize as a Vampire Hunter (for instance). Requirements for the next PrC are: Skills: Intimidate 10 ranks, Knowledge (the planes) 5 ranks, Knowledge (relevant monster lore) 10 ranks, Sense Motive 10 ranks Class: at least 3 levels in the Monster Hunter PrC So, yes, monster lore is a prerequisite, albeit one that doesn't kick in before you specialize. Please remember that Knowledge (the planes) is about the only skill you CAN'T take at character creation. You have to acquire it during the gaming sessions. So, achieving 5 ranks in it isn't the piece of cake it might look like... |
