Umm... it leads to the Living Greyhawk Web site, not the forums. In fact all of the links for the respective settings lead to their respective Web sites.

Yes I understand the semantics, but since the Greyhawk 'setting' doesn't have an official web site, it would be appropriate for the link to point to the Living Greyhawk 'campaign' web site.

I realize that perception, but I think it would be better for it to point to the official setting's forum, which happens to be this one, rather than a 3rd party campaign site.

That should've been easily understood by my initial post, no?

Considering that none of the other 'setting' links point to a forum page, that making this the only exception would break fundamental rules of consistency in information architecture, and that the Living Greyhawk page is a part of the Wizards' web site, no, it's shouldn't have been easily understood by your initial post.

Sep 13, 2004 16:02:17 Huh??? I didn't realize we were competing, nor was I trying to exhibit any superior intelligence. I just think that it wouldn't make sense for them to link to a forum considering the nature of the other links. In my opinion, unless all of the other settings link to their respective forums, there's no reason why Greyhawk should.

It's not really an issue for me since I know how to get to the Greyhawk Forum and don't use any of the lists.

To me that seems like a blatant insult on my intelligence. Perhaps I misunderstood.

My opinion will not change. The Greyhawk List is for talking primarily about Greyhawk, not a 3rd party campaign.

So, it only stands to reason that the link should point to these forums rather than the Living Greyhawk Website.

If its not an issue for you, fine. But for other people that may participate in Greyhawk-L and are looking for other places to talk about Greyhawk it would be nice to be directed here instead of a 3rd party campaign site, in my opinion.

That'd be great if there were an official Greyhawk site to be directed to, but unfortuantely we all know that is non-existent, so here would be the next best place to be directed to as it pertains to Greyhawk the setting.
